Last weekend 20 year old Amanda Kaltved took home an A feature win in the hornet feature win after a close battle with Nate Coopman. The crowd loved it!
In her post race interview she said she was definately looking for the checkered flags as she had her hands full, with the 9 of Nate Coopman trying to get around her. She also said that she definately would like to move up to a different class in the future.
I am not sure if this was our first ever female winner at the track or not.
I remember a gal by the name of Laurel Vera winning a B feature at the Jackson Nationals, but don't remeber her winning an A feature.
Also there may have been a female win a mini sprint race at some point under the Houseman era?
Can anyone give me the female drivers names and dates of these races and if they happend?
Amanda will try and make it two in a row this Saturday Night for Fan Appreciation Night.
Hope to see everyone at Jackson this Saturday.

actually Jon, I think Laurel might have won an 'a' feature back in the 90's. Talk to Butch, he rides around on a blue 4-wheeler because he cant walk very well. He was with her crew back in the 90's.
when the green flag drops, the bullshit stops!

Jon -- you're right about the woman winning a mini-sprint feature. It was an exhibition race during the late 80's, either under Houseman or Howard Dietchman. She was from Sioux Falls, but I can't remember her name.

Probably Sue Unzelman. It may have been in 1992.
