*It couldn't be closer at the top of the IMCA Modified points heap with Arroyo Grande's Chad Weber leading Lompoc's Mike Johnson by a single point. If that's not enough, Tony Toste, of Arroyo Grande, and Santa Maria's Ron Wiley are tied for third, 21 points behind the leader. Third place Bruce Hiroshima, also of Camarillo, is 19 points out of first, followed by Brea's Anthony Lopiccolo (-28) and Moorpark's West Evans (-38).

*Dale Sylvester, of Arroyo Grande, has a 7 point advantage over Brandon Brickey, Sr., of Lompoc, 9 points over Santa Maria's Michael Frazier, 10 points over Arroyo Grande's Kevin Linson (after two straight feature victories), and 11 points over Atascadero's Charlie Scovell. Talk about a close championship!

Grzincic's lead is 21 over second place Rob Gilbertson, of Santa Maria, and 26 over Jeremy Heroux of Nipomo. Fourth and fifth place drivers Dustin Ensign, of Nipomo, and Ben Caswell, of Santa Barbara, are 61 and 62 points in arrears, respectively.

Is the race on the 4th of July still on. I know not to many tracks run because of the Holiday being a night time family event, but I am heading down to Pismo and though I might catch a race.

The race at Santa Maria on the 4th is on and should be a great show with no other tracks running that night. I would think the car count might be the largest yet for the sprints at SMS this year. Come on out you'll enjoy yourself!
