Way too much rain here in the Metroplex...

I checked the rain guage at 6:30am and it was over 3". And we've had two more rounds since, probably another 1" since...

I think there are an awful lot of highly suspect rainouts... for those of you not in the DFW area, this one is about as legit as they get.

Well, I sure thought it was legit last night about 7pm when I was in my office's tornado shelter due to the tornado alarms going off.

We've had half a dozen heavy rainstorms at my apartment 2 miles north of DFW airport... the downtown Dallas area is getting hit yet again today.

Don't take my word for it... check out a current radar (as of this post) of DFW. Ugly.

DANG IT! I was going tonight!

On the local channels for the weather they listed Mesquite as having over 7 inches of rain - and I assume that this is taken at the Mesquite airport - adjacent to the Devil's Bowl. Even the 4 inches of rain at my house would eliminate any possibility of getting the rigs into and out of the pits.

Yep - this was an honest rain out - and with more showers predicted. I hope they called it in time so the rigs didn't travel this way. Here's hoping Okla. City will fare better - since the front is supposed to going back to the North.

The ASCS national tour has had a rough year so far with more rainouts than races run. Let's hope for some better weather for the rest of the year!
