If Blaney had Tony Stewart's money behind him, and Schatz was the one running the low dollar car, would you still take Schatz? I wouldn't, but that's just me.
Donny is a great driver and Dale is a great driver on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of funding. Dale is winning quite regularly in what amounts to a "local" car. He is winning All-Star championships, running (and winning) WoO races, and running right up front in crown jewel events. I think you would hard pressed to find someone in the US right now, doing as much with as little funding. It is always nice to see the underfunded teams find victory lane against the teams with millions behind them, no matter who it is!

Schatz was winning races and championships before Tony Stewart bought the team and was funded by his parents.
BTW, I remember Blaney on the WoO tour several years ago. Dale is a great driver. Congrats!
From RacingOne:
"Schatz was in command on the 31st go-around when he got tangled up with a lapped car, causing him to spin and get into the wall and then he was hit by Lee Jacobs who was running a career-best fourth at the time and had nowhere to go. Schatz wound up 22nd in the Armor All J&J and retains the series point lead over Kinser. This gave the lead to Blaney aboard the Ti-22 Performance Maxim."

Kudos to Dale and George!!!
I have no axe to grind with any driver or team, and I definitely do no wish ill for any of them; but it does my heart good anytime that a 2-man operation such as this can take home the big check; especially against the best of the best. (God, will THAT statement start an uproar!!!)
I had the pleasure of interviewing Dale last year when he won the All Star race at Eagle. A really great guy, and extremely humble. He and George are a class act without a doubt.
I almost wish that I could listen in tonight, but I guess I'll have to settle for seeing racing at "America's Home Track" Eagle Raceway.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.
