We had more cars than Devils Bowl had. I think they had like 5 heats whereas we had 7. Some of the national guys were there which I was glad to see. Also, have to give it up to the two guys that pulled in from Arizona to race.

yeah we had 56 they had 44. But much of that is due to the Dodge City NCRA race saturday. Friday's field split in a couple different directions. Seth Bergman from Snohomish, Washington left SFS friday and towed all the way to Knoxville, Iowa to run their weekly 360 show.
Obviously, some went down to the Bowl. Some went up to Dodge City. And then some just converged back for Wichita last night.
I would call this one of the most wildly successful sprint car racing weekends in the region in quite some time. 4 very succesful shows covering 3 states. And a 5th too if you count OCRS - although I heard the dust was very unbearable, but they had 27 sprints and that was with Creek County RUNNING.
I was very suprised to see Wright, Jason Johnson, and Travis Rilat all ran Devils Bowl but not OKC. But then again - it was basically a National show without a National purse/payout. And Devil's Bowl is right in the backyard of all 3 of those heavy hitters. And once again - Joe Wood Jr. put on a sow down there. I still think Joe Jr. has a solid chance to win all 3 Super Sprint, Champ Sprint, and ASCS Sooner Region titles. He's simply on fire right now. Look forward to possibly seeing him pilot the Porter 71 champ sprint at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada.
I'm already lookin' forward to a great show at SFS friday. and then Ada saturday. That looks like it will be really good - if OCRS hooked 27 with creek runnin' - add a few metro drivers and their car count should easily hit 30. I think probably 37. Add in some vintage throwback super modifieds and the like - it will be a pretty cool outing. I look forward to it - look forward to gettin the bad taste of Meeker saturday night out lol. sorry - jmho. Just hope the weather dont screw with it - and maybe even not too much dust. That one might be a stretch tho lol - everytime I've gone there I've left lookin' like an Arab/Mexican or something. but o well - it's part of it. Legendary promoter Earl Baltes of Eldora fame once said "If there aint dirt in the bottom of your beer, it aint racin'!"
