With the National Weather Service forecast looking like rain, officials at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway have cancelled tommorows GSC and WSM event. With competitors traveling such far distances it was decided to error on the side of caution with the bleak forecast.

latest tulare report

  • Tonight: Cloudy with showers. Low 54F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
  • Tomorrow: A few showers early with mostly cloudy conditions later in the day. High near 75F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
  • Tomorrow night: A few clouds from time to time. Low 54F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
  • just wondering why not wait till morning. would have been plenty of time to call it. maybe worried about the crowd?

i believe anyone putting up the money has the right to do what they feel is correct, but only in california will they cancel a race with mostly cloudy conditions and a high of near 75F and a low of 54F. lol.

I think the promoters willing to cancel a day in advance should be applauded! It takes a lot of time and effort put forth in the days prior to a race to get ready to leave, some even taking off work early to do so and others leaving the night before. To know a day ahead saves you that. Learning the morning of a race means that some teams will be on their way when they get the word and others might already be at the track. We have had it happened both ways and believe me we'd rather know the night before.

Buzzie, this only differs about 90% from your compassionate post yesterday when you bit-off fastharris' head. Are you schizophrenic or just hypocritical?

i know what i wrote then as well as now. i didn't criticise or scold anyone or tell them what to do or even say it was a bad idea. i in fact recognised their right to do what they want. i just said only in cali would a race be cancelled with a 75 degree forcast. and even put a lol on it.
