Watsonville, Ca. (April 24, 2009) – Tyler Walker and the SC Motorsports team would score their second consecutive Golden State Challenge Sprint Car win in spectacular fashion at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville. The team has not finished out of the top-8 in five of the GSC races entered this year.

"I told Scott (Chastain), that we are going to have a great year," Walker said. "Every time that I show up at the racetrack, I have the confidence in my guys that the car will be fast."

The team is rapidly gaining momentum, with April being a productive month for Scott Chastain's, SC Motorsports, NMI Industrial Contractors No. 24, JEI. Ocean Speedway would become the site for the teams' third win. The capable team, has garnered two other wins in GSC competition this season, with victories coming at Antioch Speedway, April 4th, and last weekend at Petaluma Speedway.

Heading into the fifth round of the series, Tyler would carry a slim 4 point lead into the event over the always tough and current King of California, Jonathan Allard.

In qualifying, Walker would flash around the ¼-mile speedway in the Lee Lindgren wrenched mount to second quick, out of the 21 car field - timing in with an 11.889. In Heat 2, Walker would finish second to Bud Kaeding. In the all important dash, Walker would finish fourth, which would put him in the second row of the 30-lap feature.

When the feature went green, Walker would immediately pounce, and start his charge from his fourth starting spot. Walker was calculating and made every move count on the racy surface. With three laps to go, Walker put the heat on leader Allard. On the white flag lap, Walker would go to the top of the racetrack in turns 1 & 2, and utilize the Don Ott power under the hood. He proceeded to pass Allard, and drove to victory in the exciting event.

"It was an awesome race. Once we got in lapped traffic, we reeled them in. The guys had the car good and most everyone was running the bottom of the racetrack. I just hauled it in on the top and the car stuck. Jonathan and Brent are as tough as they come and to be able to pass them is a great feeling. I'm really looking forward to Tulare!"
