The
World of Outlaws inaugural $20,000-to-win event on Aug. 7-8
at I-55 Raceway will be known as the Ironman 55 after suggestions from fans were accepted and reviewed by series and track officials.
It'll be the first 55-lap A-main for the Outlaws. The Friday-Saturday event features a 30-lapper on Friday and the massive 55-lapper paying $20,000 to win and $1,000 to start on Saturday. Reserved seats will go quick. A two-day ticket is only $50 and includes a pre-race Saturday pit pass if purchased by July 15.Call the track at 636-479-3219 or visit http://www.ironman55.com for more information and links to the World of Outlaws and I-55 Raceway.

Isn't this the same behaviour that you accuse 410 fans of when it comes to the 360's? Easy to be a hypocrit isn't it. I've got a question for you. When will knoxville quit scheduling the 360 nationals against the allstars at husets? They're obviously just trying to hurt sprint car racing.
WOW! not just a record in stupidity - but likely a record in stupid comments as well.

Isn't I-55 a 1/3 mile track? 55 laps (good to pay homage to the facility hosting the event) computes to about 18 miles. The Knoxville Nationals arer longer this year (20 miles). Isn't the Kings Royal a forty lap race on a big half mile, too?
Oh...THIS race is the same weekend as the 360 Nationals at Knoxville. Husets' two day ASCoC event is the previous weekend (Saturday-Sunday) to close out Thunder Through the Plains. It's going to be a big deal, too.

You guys can complain about fuel stops all you want, but this should be an excellent show. I-55 has always provided excellent racing everytime I have been there and 55 laps around this place should be exciting!! It's to bad I can't make this race

A race on a track that size with that many laps is very possible. In recent years fremont has ran several 50 lap events without fuel stops and it's also a 1/3. If the teams think that it's going to be a close call on fuel they can strap on the bigger tanks. If they run out of fuel, then tough shit. They should have been prepared.
OKC, your conspiracy theories are a joke. In Ohio, on any given weekend, there will be sprint car races at fremont, attica, lima, wayne county, lakeville, k-c, sharon, waynesfield and skyline. All of these tracks in one state and within a few hours drive of one another. That doesn't mention any of the tracks that are right over the border into other states like lernerville, gas city, mercer, lawrenceburg and tracks that run in michigan. They all find a way to survive with one another. You can't possibly expect anyone to believe that having two races within a few hours drive of one another is some crazy ass conspiracy to degrade the sport.
If your conspiracy theories had any truth to them, PA would have been a wasteland for sprint car racing years ago. Having visited that area in the past, I can tell you that it's anything but that. Infact, I'm making another visit to posseland in june. They must be alive and well.
If this race was put together by the ASCS, you would have said that it was the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel and further proof that your beloved 360's are better than 410's. Get over it and just go to the damn track and enjoy the racing.

55 laps should make it interesting to say the least. I say kudos to WRG on this one, at least they're doing something a little different here. I'm sure we'll get a full page rant from OKCfan after he thinks on it for a while.

I love 2 day woo shows makes a road trip well worth the time, but on that weekend I will be at knoxville as I have thought the last 30 years or so the saturday night before nationals is my faovirte night of racing for the year, and when they moved the main event for 360s nationals to that night made it better, the most wing sprint cars you will see at a single night, for ticket price of what I think is $20, would not surprise me one bit if knoxville does not have more 410 cars that night than pevely, any other month of the year and I would be there.

Time for WoO teams to start carrying full time pit stop crew, a jackman, fuel man, someone to clean the visor, a guy to jack weight on the right rear!!!Might even add a Pit Stop competition between the B and the A Mains.

quit your complaining and come check it out. then if there are tons of them you can complain next year. the thing to complain about is seating because that place is ALWAYS packed with no seats left. So on 2nd thought stay home if your that worried.

John,
For the record...Eldora (King's Royal), is not a "big" half mile.
I realize they advertise Eldora as a 1/2 mile track, but the actual measurements prove otherwise. When you compare lap-times to other "1/2" mile tracks, the numbers can be a little deceiving.
With that said, Eldora is a great/fast track.
The I-55 race sounds like an interesting concept. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a rubber down affair.

Just for shits and giggles I dialed up I-55 on google earth. Calling it a 1/3 is a bit of a stretch. It's about 100 feet shorter than fremont and 50 feet shorter than silver dollar. They should have no problem getting the laps in as long as there aren't a lot of yellow flag laps and they don't screw off.

I'll elaborate more on this after the race tonight in OKC
but ease up on the "conspiracy theory" label. No i honestly dont think the ONLY reason All Stars and WoO are holding that race is to hurt the 360 Nat's. Anyone knows the impact one race would have on the other is minimal - the biggest threat each race faces is probably economy. But no Slave their first goal is to make some dough and put on a succesful race. I'm not naive dude lol........
the fuel stop remark was not meant in a 360 vs. 410 way. Not even a bad way - that could be a really cool deal for the fans no doubt. But you sure dont hear of that stuff very often (50+ laps). It is unusual - hey pretty cool too - but unusual. Not every remark I make is tilted towards ascs - i can think of plenty of criticisms of them too -
I'll elaborate more on this later after the races.

And he forgets that there is a search function in the forum.................
In this first one you hope that the race rains out.

In this one you post your ussual bullshit about the scheduling around the 360 nationals.
http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum~ThreadID~27839.htm#thread149828
There are many more. Shall I post them? Or, should you just admit that you're completely and utterly full of your own shit and have no idea what you're talking about?
