How does the purse for a guy who takes a provisional work? I see last night Schatz made only $500 and Kemenah made $75 or so for the A-Main. What happens if they win the race?

They said in Florida that you forfeit the start money, but get full points. Whatever that means

They still get "tow" money, though and whatever money they've earned up through the A-main.

Drivers that take provisionals have "A" feature start money deducted from their winnings. This is so the promoter is not forced to pay extra purse money for the added cars. In last night's race, that was $700. If Schatz or Kemenah had won, they'd have received $9,300.

Unfortunately, they have it backwards. Provisionals are being used the wrong way. It's not the money they're worried about, it's points. No points should be awarded to a driver using a prov.

Provisionals SUCK! A driver should have to earn his way into the feature event.
