Friday nights racing at SFS in Oklahoma City looks bleak but nothing has been even thought about as far as canceling so that is still on.

Please post your tracks update on whether or not your track is racing. If your in the know or know correct information, please post it here asap. This will give us race fans you racers and idea where to head on Saturday night.

The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters race scheduled for this Saturday night (April 16) has been ppd. and rescheduled for Saturday night, May 9th.

Right now I will more than likey head to Elk Citys I-40 Speedway on Saturday night. I hope you all do as well. If Elk City is not a go then I will more than likely head to Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore.

Again, please post only if your track is cancelled or definately racing.

Thanks!

I agree it does look bleak for SFS, but the last hourly forecast I saw showed the rain moving out by midday tomorrow. So if somehow the track doesn't get too much rain - and they can get the staging area and scales area in order, it's possible. But not likely frown We need either the forecasters to have gotten it wrong worse than they have in a looooong time - or we need some divine intervention if they do get it right.

I've been wandering the same thing David. I had thought of Little Rock, but then thought thats an awful long drive when there is chance of rain in that area. So now it's either I-44 or Cowtown. Really leaning towards Cowtown. They are running double points and increased purse for their winged 600's. and the big mods will be there so it looks like a solid show. Maybe even some of the DFW ascs racers will run it now (Minter, Baldaccini, Robb). And if not that - then I-44. They are runnin makeup features from last week. They had b mains in the non wing and a class. So those classes should be well attended. Plus they are running for I think 1k to win if they get 20 multi's. Good weekend for I-44 to do that this weekend and not next. which leads me to my next thought,

David, will you be attending SFS next friday night? and posting results? I'm cookin' up an idea.......

Hey here is an interesting thought.

If the ASCS National Tour race got moved to Saturday May 9th - that could be good for the SFS show the night before (ASCS Sooner vs. Lone Star). Little Rock is only 5 hours drive. And one would think that MANY of those guys would WANT to make a WEEKEND out of it. Hell SFS is on the way for many of them.

However, the I-30 makeup does not spell good news for the 2nd leg of the Sooner vs. Lone Star Shootout that weekend - that being at Devil's Bowl. That just took away probably 8-10 quality teams in my speculation. But with how poor their weekly show is down there - I;m sure they will just be glad to have a decent program.

I really do hope this works out in FAVOR of the Sooner vs. Lone Star Shootout at SFS - rather than against it. I hope ASCS encourages their drivers - especially those traveling long distance - to make a weekend of it. Thats one of the questionable things with ASCS this year. They have a lot of single race weekends. Hope everything works out well all the way around.

Why would you want to got to Lawton or Elk when there is 10x better racing here in OKC? I-44 will be the place to be Saturday. They have to run all 6 A features from last week plus a complete show. They also have a $1250 to win Multi/Outlaw race. All the ASCS2 multi studs will be here. Sawyer, Bayer, JRock, Felker and more. Last week I-44 had 36 non wing and 30 A class cars. It should be packed. I-44 now sells cold beer! Stop by the trailer and say hi. FYI...Robb will be in Little Rock.

are all of those 36 non wing and 30 a class gonna be back?

thats a hell of a field to have when Port opened their season. -

Greg, how well attended do you think the ASCS2/Port show will be next weekend? On the micro outlaw forum I heard some say they thought it would be a record car count. actually, same question to anyone willing to answer it. hell, I may even start a thread about it.

David Smith, you gonna be at SFS next friday?

There should be everyone that was there last week plus more. Several okc drivers were at Port City's Spring fling last weekend. So they will return, plus all the traveling Tulsa cars will be here. There will be 100+ cars in the pits.

Port will be packed out for the ASCS2 show for sure. That place puts on maybe the best show on in the state. Some of the best micro drivers in the country call Port City home.

ok I'm gonna try to make sure I got this right lol.

So I-44 will run a complete show - all classes. and pay 1k to win for the multi's in that complete show.

and run makeup features for what classes? non-wing and A Class? or is there more as well?

just trying to figure it out. The I-44 website has nothing on it about any of this.......

I have been watching the radar for the entire morning for a number of reasons. Anyhow the heaviest rain is in eastern Oklahoma right now but Koco calls for the rain to increase in coverage into the afternoon.

I think the make up races are for all classes. I believe they rained out after the B's

Right now everything is east. I'm really thinking they missed their predictions by about 60 miles. They say more wide spread in the afternoon but I just don't see it happening unless some new stuff forms. Right now the mass is training over the same areas east of here and poses no threat. LETS GO RACIN!

I-44 got rained out after the A-class "B" feature last Saturday night. That means that program will be ran like this.

They will first run all 6 features that got rained out last weekend. Then they'll run the multi qualifiers after the previous "A" mains are complete. After that they will run all the heats and features for the remaining classes and the multi's.

I fear we are just being set up for an epic late evening rainout.

It's almost 5pm and it looks good outside, but if the weather people are right, it's all gonna refire int he next 2 hours. Hopefully they are wrong. They haven't exactly hit the nail on the nead to this point.
