Cody Myers maintains Browns Valley Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Sprint Car Series point lead at Marysville Raceway Park

Marysville, CA – April 14, 2009…The Myers Brothers Racing Team was in action this past Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway Park and at the conclusion of the evening Cody Myers scored a third place finish to maintain his lead in the wingless track point standings.
It was announced recently that Myers Brothers Racing Team owner Blane Myers has agreed to sponsor the wingless sprint car division at the Marysville Raceway Park. Each week the new Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Sprint Car Series will pay a solid $1,000 to win.
Myers is excited to become part of the weekly program at the revamped quarter-mile bullring. "I really think the Hawes Family and Marysville Raceway Park are headed in the right direction so we're looking forward to sponsoring the wingless class this year," he said. "They've done wonders with this track in the off-season and it's looking like it can be one of the top venues to race at in Northern California."
This past Saturday marked the second point race of the season at Marysville Raceway Park and Myers Brothers Racing's Cody Myers continued his extremely consistent year by racing to a heat race victory and a third place finish in the feature. In fact the driver of the Aces Heavy Transport, FranksBackhoe, Don's Landscaping No. 9 has scored top five finishes in all but one of his races this season, including a pair of top five finishes at the Silver Cup in Chico.
Fellow team driver Mason Myers, who finished third in the Silver Dollar Speedway standings last season, came into the night on the heels of a seventh place finish the previous week and brought home a fourth place finish in his heat race, but like many drivers had problems in the main event and finished 18th in the curfew shortened event aboard the Cal West Concrete, Matco Tools, Performance Supply No. 3m.
This coming Saturday will find the Myers Brothers Racing Team in competition at the Marysville Raceway Park for the third point race of the Browns Valley Auto Truck & RV Performance Center Wingless Sprint Car Series season. Going into the night Cody Myers will hold a five point lead in the standings as he looks to get into victory lane for the first time this season. Brother Mason comes into the evening sixth in points and will look for a solid showing to move up in the standings.
