The small and tight knit Ventura racing community was stunned by the
tragic passing of seventeen year fast foot Christian Stover last week.
He had worked his way into Steve Watt’s lean blue 82 car and opened the
season’s first three races with strong performances. My heart goes out
to his parents. Jim Naylor started this weekend’s racing with a
beautiful moment of silence and a haunting live performance of “The
Star Spangled Banner’ by Danzig former guitarist John Christ. Ventura
Raceway slowed to a stop as the fans and drivers collectively meditated
on the immense loss of this young and passionate racer...Continue story
