still no wireless at the track, so until its my turn for pager duty on race night I wont have the phone card. And my bb dont work with the board, Ive tried. Apparently I need a Windows Mobile Device.
The Curfew:
The A didnt push until after 10 pm.
A series of preliminary race reds set the program back.
One in the American Stocks when a guy threw a right rear and went for a ride. He was ok, but left Pebble Beach divots.
Then in the non wing cars a guy just missed Willie and the flag stand. WOW!. Every body was ok though.
Then in the B for the 360s, Barroso for what ever reason, didnt get to talk to him, drove right over Fredenburg and flipped both cars. On lap 6, Simone was not so much "lawn dart of the night" as he was an in bound icbm and left a crater in turn 2. That took time to patch as well. 2 reds total.
Thus the clock was ticking.
then in the A for the 360s with 45 minutes to get it in went YRYRYYY
The race was called at 11pm with 22 in the books.
But I will add that the track was great, not dry. Turn one and two is so wide that you could run it as a 3/8. With the armco moved out, its a top shelf turn to be had. Furr went to the top in his heat and was stellar.
Man was it F-n cold or what?!!! =)

Ken Fredenburg sure is having a rough start to the year. Two for two upside down.

"Track was great and not dry"
It was a DRY, washboard tire-eating POS. Are you doing PR or cheerleading for Sagmiller? Track prep begins on Wednesday, not race day

Stu. My bb works with the board. I am posting with it right now. Get the opera mini browser for your bb.
hey stu, just checked and i can get on the board with my bb browser too. the opera min is by far easier to deal with though. drop me a line and i will help if i can. i was online at the track with my laptop using my bb as a modem.

ok maybe i shouldn't be doing this but i am going to.
were you giving yourself an enima with your cranium during the pit meeting or are you just one of those after the fact bleecher preachers that have no idea wtf they are talking about?
it was explained very clear and in depth that the track area is dealing with a high water table issue right now and that the track crew has been working EVERY day trying to deal with it. now maybe in their efforts to deal with the water table issues they might have gone past center. maybe. i walked to the fence during what might have been the street stock main and they were running the freakin cushin!
we started the sprint car main with new rear tires and at the end of the race they looked great. i would bolt the LR on for another night no problem and would run the RR in another main but for the exception that most guys will put a new one on and even though we are a very moderatly funded team we still need to try to keep up.
for us traction was an issue and still we didn't eat our tires as you suggest.
was the place perfect? no. was it as bad as you state? not hardly. the promotor thanked people who called the track bad after opening night a couple of weeks ago. he said junk was a better word. i am sure you missed that as it must have happened in the middle of your enima. just as you must have missed him say they were trying hard to deal with their situation and they were bound to miss it untill conditions got a little more normal. they are racers. they missed the setup a little. so did we. but they are trying. to make it sound like they are not and do not care makes you the POS.

Buzz, after your very pointed put down of me I had to spend a double session today with the psychiatrist (that is very expensive on a Sunday, about the cost of 3 right rears). I told her that you called me a PPS and she said you are right. I was told that I have no filter, lack impulse control, am attacking, inflammatory and intentionally try and provoke know-it-all's. I was advised to quit drinking, stay away from the track and be more tolerant of delusional people with a very low success rate. I can't do much about the first two suggestions but for your sake I'll work on the last.

you should have saved yourself some expense and just went to an eye doctor cause i called you a POS, not a PPS. unless of course the quack you went to failed to diagnose your hallucinogenic tendencies.
this is BK on his way to winning the 360 main (L&J photo) on the "DRY, washboard tire-eating POS" as you called the racing surface.
