Hello all ORA members!
The booster club will hosting a spaghetti dinner at the next ORA meeting to be held on April 8, 2009 to help raise money for the drivers point fund. I am not sure if you drivers are aware that a majority of the money you win for being a top ten driver comes from the hard work done by the booster club members. So please join us for dinner wednesday and help support the ORA and The Booster Club.
Dinner will be $3.00 per person and will include: Spaghetti, salad, bread, tea, and a desert item. All proceeds go to the drivers points fund.
Thanks,
April Clevenger-McVey

yeah maybe you are right and many haven't won a whole lot.........
but oddly enough - we still see them race on a regular/weekly basis - which is more than can be said for you. At least they are out there trying.....
Like the ORA or not - there would not be any point fund, recognition, programs, and other stuff - - - without em. They should be given credit where it is due for the time and effort many put in.
If you think it could all be better - let em know your thoughts. Even the local racing scene is a lot bigger than you. You are just one car/one trailer/one driver. How many races you won in the PAST does not matter in the PRESENT you don't take part in......
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would

I can see this topic heading in a bad direction.

Its actually a pretty good organization that does a lot for racing in OKC. A $600 check at the end of the year isn't really anything to sneeze at. Also, being able to visit with other racers at the functions is nice. 9 of the top 10 in Supers were part of the ORA and the 11th place car too. The only one that wasn't a member already is this year. So actually it ends up being a pretty good cross section of old guys who have won (you have to be pretty good to get top 10), and young guys who are up and coming and or winners.

Thank the Lord for the ORA Booster Club. They do an amazing job year in and year out.
Talk about unsung Hero's. These Ladies go above and beyond to make our sport what it is.
Although the asking price for the Spaghetti Dinner at the next ORA meeting (April 8, 2009) is only $ 03 bucks. I pledge $50.00 and ask that you will do the same or better.
