Still one of the greatest racing writers of all time. I can picture it as if I were there.

Thanks Philthy. Those links look identical but clearly, they are not.
Phil Taylor, to the reading public, was the mastermind of the "Eck's Files" title back about 15 years or so ago.

You're most welcome Kevin - anything to help out my racin' STEP-Bro - somehow that Hosehead link got in front of and added to your url and buggered it all up. Indeed a long time coming on that "Eck's Files" deal.... ![wink](/images/Main/wink_100x100.gif)

Inquiring minds want to know about:
"Danny Lasoski's fourth-place finish in the Casey's General Store Maxim was best of his World of Outlaw season and hinted of more in store."
1. I thought I read that the JEI chief was wrenching on Dan's car?
2. Sammy switched a few years ago, Chad K switched a couple of years ago, Joey switched back, TMAC switched last year, etc...is Donnie going to be the only one on the tour not running Maxim?

Good eye. I got it right the second night. Believe me, Barry Jackson is not working on a Maxim. It is a JEI. In a fit of lazy journalism, I used the World of Outlaw summary which called it a Maxim, failed to notice the error, and ran it as such. The Outlaws have become a majority Maxim tour, other than a few KPC converts.

I had heard through the grapevine that Sammy really liked Maxim's after running for the Vielhauer's(sp?) a few years ago. He had driven an Eagle and a J&J for Roth the previous two years and had said the Maxim was the first real racecar he'd driven since his Channelock Stealth's.
I've always been intrigued by how many teams in Pa. use J&J's. Do they make that much of a difference?
What has become of Eagle? Not as many of them and there used to be. I guess Jason Johnson is still a loyal customer.

shame too you eck! i've driven all the cars other than a jei and the foreign job. seen the craftmanship of both in great detail. one is as good as the next. maxim seem to drive better in the slick. you can load up the lf and rite rear and drive with the throttle. you can do this with most cars as rite heights have gotten pretty generic. havn't orderd a car from chuck since 02 , but he was very accomidateing to a few of my ideas and we put them into one of my cars. maxim has the majority and monkey see monkey do duz apply. one nice thing with maxims is you can walk thru the pits and get a idea of how to set the car just by looking at all the maxims. they have some of the best drivers. i ordered a car from jack last year for my car owner and he'll make you what ever you want. that i like. i've noticed a differance in philosophies in the two manufactures. maxim works a little bit on a flex system while j&j has more of a rigid concept. both idea have huge success. me personnally i've won in both. personally i prefer the ridged concept and working on my suspension system. wait till i get the money to build my frankinstein. it's gonna be trick and safe as all get out. ![wink](/images/Main/wink_100x100.gif)
