David Smith, Jr. NCRA Press (405) 740-4769 NCRA Oklahoma Modifieds and Sport Modifieds Debut Saturday Night FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 17, 2009 - Park City, Kansas - The O'Reilly/National Championship Racing Association will kick off their 39th consecutive season of dirt track racing this coming Saturday night as the series two new divisions debut at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma. The event will not only be the inaugural race for the new Oklahoma modified and sport modified divisions but will also mark the first ever appearance of the series to Elk City. After almost a decade of sanctioning 360 sprint car, late model and modified races throughout the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri the series added three new divisions to its lineup for the 2009 race season. Along with the Oklahoma modified and sport modified divisions, a new 305 sprint car class was also formed. The event will be the first of three scheduled stops for both divisions at the three-eights mile clay oval this season and the only scheduled time both will be featured at the same track on the same night. Modified drivers will be competing for the $1000 to win top prize while the sport modifieds will compete for $500 to win. Below is the information that you need to know for the first ever NCRA event held in Elk City, Oklahoma. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT: The O'Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified and sport modified debut to kick off the NCRA 2009 schedule. The tracks local weekly divisions of pro stocks, factory stocks and bombers will also be competing. WHERE: Elk Citys I-40 Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma. Track is located off of I-40 at exit 34 (Merritt Rd.), then half mile north and half mile west. WHEN: This coming Saturday night, March 21. Gates open at 3:00 PM with races set to begin at 6:00 PM. There will be a practice session on Friday night from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Pit passes are $10 with grandstand admission "free" for Friday nights practice. ADMISSION: Saturday nights pit gate admission is $25.00 with adult grandstand tickets $8.00. Children tickets 12-6 cost $4.00 while ages 5 and under will be admitted free. LODGING: The Days Inn in Elk City is the motel of choice for all racers and race fans. Rates are $66.00 per night for double bed and $59.00 for single but you must mention your racing with NCRA for this discount. Call them at (580) 225-0305. There will be plenty of parking for trailers but better hurry and reserve your room now as there are not many rooms left. EATERIES: To go along with the usual fast food places like McDonalds, Long John Silvers, Arbys and Quiznos there are also plenty of home cooking available that is recommended by the locals.
