See the last graph of Doug Gabbard's post at http://www.canyonspeedwaypark.com/index2.html.
"Please make arrangements to attend a meeting during our open practice on Wednesday March 18th at CSP. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm in the front grandstand area and entry is free."
9777 West Carefree Highway (six miles west of Highway 17) in Peoria.
If the photo on Google Maps is still accurate, I'd have to guess that Canyon is expandable, btw. And they are waaaaaaaaaay out in the sticks.

Canyon speedway is now less than 10 miles from a large new mall in Peoria, although access is still on an ungraded, rough & rocky road for the last 3/4 of a mile.......................

I'll be heading down tomorrow to see and support the ASCA again.Yep, the majority of the road is paved, but the switchback over the arroyo is still tough for the big haulers. Every time I drive into that track, I smile about what those outlaw boy's must have been thinking when they were driving in there for that first slick 50 deal. I can just imagine..

Hope something works for Canyon. I know Bigfish is a big supporter of that track and that means alot as far as I am concerned.

Thanks Trip, but I would think you would as well.
What we have here is new owners of a rundown track that are trying hard, and the will to survive by the original 360 group here in AZ, the ASCA. The ASCA was pushed out by the Corporation, ASCS. I look at ASCA like I did SCRA, and look at ASCS as I do USAC.. I'm not only old school, I'm loyal to a fault. ASCA has hung in there, even had a race combined with N.M.'s NMMRA last year at Show low's Thunder raceway.
It's going to be very interesting to see how this deal shakes out now. Will the ASCS regulars want to travel to Tucson and in particular Hollywood hills, a track I like very much. Will ASCS, now try to turn the series, as I've suspected might happen, into a winged deal. Or how many will stay at home and return to the Arizona Sprint Car Association. I've not only seen the 410's almost disappear from AZ, I've feared for our non wing guys the minute Hahn stepped in.
One of the reasons I like and respect what's being done at Ventura is that if you will allow me to include myself here, we are doing it without the corporation and that's what I hope will happen here as well. Supporting ASCA and Canyon Raceway along with the group up here (the Challenge cup) will help both those goals in my opinion. Those goals being keeping the wings off, and getting our local group strong again. Doe's that make sense to you trip?
