Racer88 Dude are you series....... USAC wasn't the problem. You wanna know the problem (it is the best problem to have in the world) THEY HAD A GREAT CAR COUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This made it to where many teams had to park outside. With that great problem (TOO MANY CARS) they had to break in between every race to get cars in and out (AGAIN A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE) Ray is one of the best at preparing a race track but he was in a no win situation. The wind, over a hundred cars, and starting at 3pm he had to rework the track a few times. Yes the race went long, as we are spoiled with our regular shows, but man I think it was well worth it!!!!!!!! I just wish we had a couple of more midget shows at this track as I think it was a great midget race, and that it is a great midget track. Thanks for listening

Well said micro, as I was there also and stayed to make it to the pits around midnight. Your points hit the nail on the head. I was at Calistoga last year for the doubleheader and it was the first time that I could ever remember seeing the midgets on the dirt - let alone on the big 1/2 mile. What a show on both nights. As a result I was eagerly waiting for the PAS double last night. The move that Hagen put down at the end was almost unbelievable. They were exciting! I had somewhat of a hard time adjusting to the sprinters following all the midget action - they seemed slow. Both shows were great and the only folks leaving were the seniors and a few with small children. And that was understandable as it was somewhat cold and dusty, but very much worth my wait since it was the season opener. Thank you PAS for scheduling both divisions and your efforts to keep the dust down and to move the program.

Yes ,I 'm Serious, racers were the car count ...Usac is supposed to keep the program going..92 cars ..I don't care what time you start ,at a given point in time a new fan will leave with his family and if it's before the main ..he'll feel he got shorted...maybe all that was proven was you can't run two national programs on the same night ..YOU SAY THE RACE WAS GREAT ,I dont' dought it the racers always do a phenominal job -give 100%..........again nobody likes it when I make suggestions but if you park all the cars infield [Manzi style] ,get the haulers out...never mind.........

Correct me if I'm wrong,But didn't the press relase say 1st race 6:50pm I think the 1st race hit the track at about 7:30.to end on time you must begin on time.

with that said it was a great show ,thanks everyone involved

ROB

i have been reading this thread about ticket prices and didnt bother me much i figured big show bigger ticket, but while in line with my family (5 ) there was a old couple 70's? at the window and couldnt afford the price for both and just turned and left, while i was standing and waiting my turn i felt bad for them (no money, fixed income whatever...) and had my kid go shag the old folks down in the parking lot to offer them the extra money for their tickets but they wouldnt accept it, i tried,

it was agreat show,

GE

the program had some unavoidable events [crashes].....the racers put on a great show...it's a shame the promoter and sanctioning body can't pull it together to make it more marketable.

Who was it that did all the crashing, the promoter? The sanctioning body? You never make any sense at all.

He called me a sand Carp KOP, should I be offended?. LOL If he's not careful, I'll start telling story's about the big one's Spanky Spangler and I would catch in the crosscut canal down in Phoenix when we were kids.

This is where I live now 88.. http://prescottpictures.com/ AZ is the most diverse state in the union, not all sand by a long shot... Come on up and see our little dirt track sometime... http://www.pvraceway.com/ . You and I can fish for Carp all day long in the clear waters of Goldwater lake... I'm due for a BIGFISH anyway, and go to the races at night. Only one thing though,..no whinning if we don't catch a BIGFISH and if the show runs late, we'll just do some catfishin afterwards. It's all good.

Yes Grady, that would be Uncle hawk Berry Goldwater lake...

NO, please NO!! Don't start another thread about politics, please Kenny! Please! It only sets off one of your fellow Copper Stater's into a tirade about all the commies in Hollywood or the socialists in the White House. Next will be the trade unions as he seeks out and labels America's enemies. Smile

I'm not unaware of the problems we face and yes, the grey hair is prevalent, we're a majority in fact where I sit. I brought a guy from my Rocky Point (Mexico) forum to the Tuscon race. The track was a mess from the rain, and it was cold, but he loved it. He hadn't been to the track in a long time and had forgotten, or never really knew, how exciting the sprints were. Having the likes of Hockett, Balou, Herrera, Boat, High etc there didn't hurt either. I try hard to be a ambassador, a promoter, a ride...anything I can do to get the kids aware of sprint cars at the community college where I work at.(Facilities) If I see a NASCAR cap or whatever on a student, and if the opportunity presents itself, I'm talking 410 inches, 850 ponies, straight drive and check this out guys..NO MIRRORS! to the kid.. My office, more like a walk in closet, has pictures of Richard Griffin with a hand written WIN BREAK OR LOSE under it. I tell them our Midgets run PIR faster than Jeff Gorden..The back of my Jeep looks like this, (below) and it's parked in front of the dorms. I tell them what a great time I had, and never ever mention any negatives. I tell the ugly girls that even they will get looked at..LOL Just kidding, but it's true... I want to shake some car owners and tell them to put a picture of their sprinter on theitr haulers and maybe a few decals of some sort. Get a kid with a spray can and tell him he's tagging, there's some real talent out there..LOL I have a low tolerance to people who just complain and don't do the little things that as a whole can help....WAIT! I'm not saying you don't 88, and I'm certainly not saying that you don't love this sport and the people in it any more or less than I do. lets just see if all of us can just do what we can do, and remember when someone asks you what time the race will be over, tell them you don't know. That's the way it is, and will always be.

Drugofchoice-1.jpg

OK, whats hog catfish? Is that noodling? You can't noodle a Carp..Now I've shot em with a bow and arrow, lake Vancouver was great for that. I've speared them, and I've shot em with pellet guns and 22's in the canals. I think I even blew up a few with Cherie bombs when the water was down.I watched people get em with pitch forks and hoops of chicken wire. What's hogging Carp?

Bingo! And, I think you will get your wish in the future micro19.

That is great news. Even though we had a bad night, we would be there first in line anytime there was a midget race at Perris. Looking at the entry list there were exactly 19 WS cars at the race and probably 5-8 that were not ready and ould have been there.

USAC was not the problem..... and PAS were doing the absolute best with what they were dealt. But with time restraints and track conditions (so many cars and practice starting at 3:15) it is tough to run 92 cars through a whole program. With that said I wanna commend PAS for letting everyone take an run not just send then home if they didn't qualify well (as they do at some tracks) in reference to time. And on the unload deal (which would really make my job tough) that may be the answer, we all did that fine at Calistoga......

Kenny.Crawl in the water ,shallows/river or creek bank, dunk in -feel along for a big fella, ram your hand threw the gills or in his mouth...up and onto the bank he goes, carps are tough -catfish easier...ain't no Marlin but 30lbs. and bigger gets interesting...who's trying to eat who? fun when I was a kid...college boy huh! I'll take your advice on the rest of it....best lookin' girl I ever saw had tear offs in her pocket and could lift the rear of the car up to get a jack under in case of a flat...rich daddy as sponser could get a bland girl married ......a couple of chauvinist pig,we are!
