World of Outlaws, Little 500 and Free Golden State Challenge Fantasy Leagues Offered

ANDERSON, IN (February 17, 2009) – Openwheelfantasy.com is being launched today and will feature three fantasy leagues; the World of Outlaws- Sprint Cars, the Little 500 and the Golden State Challenge Series.

The World of Outlaws is the premier Sprint Car Series in the country and the pick three fantasy league allows fans a team of three drivers for the season. For each event, players select three drivers from the selected groups who they predict will finish at the front. Players receive points based on where the drivers finish. The top teams in the final point standings will receive cash and other prizes. The entry fee is $20 for the WoO Fantasy League. Payout will be determined by the total number of participants. The first event is slated for May 1st at Husets Speedway. The league will consist of 37 events.

The Little 500 and the Golden State Challenge Series Pick Three Fantasy Leagues will have similar formats and rules as listed above. The Little 500 entry fee is $10 with 100% payout to the top finishing teams. The GSC Pick Three Fantasy League is free to play. The season point champion will receive prizes to be determined.

The Little 500 at Anderson Speedway is the elite pavement Sprint Car race in the country. The format is unique to sprint car racing with a starting grid comprised of 33 cars in 11 rows of 3. Two live pit stops are required during the challenging 500 lap event. The 61st annual Little 500 takes place over Memorial Day weekend. Former winners are Shane Cottle, Eric Gordon, Brian Tyler, Chet Fillip, Jim Childers and David Steele.

The Golden State Challenge Series features the best 410 Sprint Car racing on the West Coast. The 27 date schedule consists of races in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. The 24th season begins on March 28th at Placerville Speedway, CA. Former champions include; Jonathon Allard, Brent Kaeding, Tim Kaeding, Sean Becker, Jason Statler and Randy Hannagan.

I just checked out the game and website and it's pretty cool. You pick three drivers for each race from groups. The A group is probably going to be Mr. Schatz but the B & C groups are wide open. These groups will be loaded when they race in PA, Ohio, Knoxville and the West Coast. It's only $20 for the year which isn't too bad. Anyone else going to play???

* The Golden State Challenge game is free!

I'm going to play the GSC and WoO games for sure! The rules look simple and I like the fact that you pick three drivers for each event in each series. Hope some of you join. It should be a great time this year.

This was a post from Bob-6s

I looked at that league (openwheelfantasy) it dosent seem orgainzed, to me has some big question marks, not to mention if I want to play the outlaw league I have to give someone $20, to give my money out to a winner that I can't see, hmmmmmmm sounds illegal to me.

**Bob, you are way off. First off, the GSC fantasy is free to the public. The WoO is $20 for the season. I sent an email to the person running it and he said 100% of the money is to be paid out. He is also giving away additional prizes such as t-shirts, race tickets ..... (donations in return for free advertising). This is no different than Nascar or NFL fantasy leagues which cost in the $50 to $100 range. Not sure why you think it's illegal????? Also, the site & game seem very organized! I signed up to play both. The bottom line is the guy running it as a huge sprint car fan and is actually losing money on this deal with all the time & effort he put forth with the game & site.
