I'm looking for some advice on triggering a Norman 400B, or a Lumedyne 400 w/s flash with a Canon Rebel XTI. Has anyone out there been this route? Canon says trigger voltage should be <6 volts to save the electronics. I've been told that safe syncs have a habit of failing. Since the XTI doesn't have a PC Synch connection, would a radio slave be reliable? I have been shooting with a Canon 580 EX, but want to upgrade for better quality. Here is a link to some of my photos from last years Creek County Sprint Bandit Show.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Buy a Nikon AS-15, Paramount pc to houshold, in line Safe Sync SSH. Funny that all the Canon guys with no pc tereminal have to mount a Nikon piece on top! Trust me you want a SafeSync some where inline or it may go boom!

Thanks for the help. Looks like that should work. Have any of you had trouble with the safe-syncs going bad? One guy told me he has had two fail.
