The Insider's inside info…1-13-2009. With little news to report from the TK camp it has been business as usual for TK and Roth motorsports during the off season. While Roth Motorsports is busy building cars and planning the schedule TK has been doing some quad ridding to keep up his skills and blow off the holiday winter coat. This last week saw TK take a ride in an Outlaw Kart at the famed indoor arena racing Red Bluff for factory QRC. Robert Carroll and Carl Pavlick of QRC had long been trying to get TK to give these little beasts a try and while TK had a learning curve he picked up the darty very potent karts quickly. TK was amazed at how much power these Karts have and has a new found respect for the kids and adults alike that wheel these small but powerful race cars around a tight bull ring, we may even see Tim take more rides when he has some time at Cycleland if his schedule will allow for it.
For all of you wondering what the schedule for this year, the team has hashed out a formal schedule that does see the team start out at Volusia Speedway in Florida. Since I do not have that formal schedule at this date I am not entirely sure of exactly what it is yet. For now my understanding is that after Florida the team will work their way back to Chico for the Mini Gold Cup and stay in Cali through June when they will run the Dirt Cup then head to the Midwest for the rest of the summer. Todd Ventura stated that while this year they will not contend for any points seires this is a long term deal with TK and they are working toward a future going back on the road with team Roth Motorsports and TK full time, for now they are working on building up a team that will be together long term, good news for both TK and Roth.
