hey thats cool.
you keep paying for names. i'll keep paying for the RACING!
and actually. we do know what ascs intends to do next year. it's the circus that no one knows exactly wtf is going on......lol.
and as far as the #'s. i am meaning nationally - not on this forum. this forum is loaded with archaic 410 zealots who prefer names and .7 sec. faster lap times of single file no passin racing with the traveling reality show - over the BETTER RACING OF 360's.
sure they may not have the names. but i dont give a flying f*ck about names. i just want to see good racing. and if comparing the quality of racing of the WoO to ascs -------- excuse me - i cant stop laughing. nowhere is it more prevalent than Knoxville, Iowa. if in it for the names and storyline - then the 410 nationals is what you want. sure its good racing too. but - if in it just to see some awesome racing - not awesome names ------ then the truth has already become apparent - and the 360 nationals is a much better R A C E than the 410's.
btw even i have to admit irony that the weekly 410 show during the 360 finale at knoxville - is a huge factor in it being so much better. look i aint so much an outlaw basher. i dont want them to fold. its not good for the sport if they fold. i'm just saying - if at a track to see good RACING - the 360's are not inferior to the 410's - in fact - nationwide its probably the other way around.
and since we're in to political jokes. here is another true fact. 410 racing has become as limited nationwide as the Republican Party's core base of support lol. only OH, PA, and CA are primarily 410 area. team wright what state u live in? lol yeah.

I've seen more great 360 races than I have ever seen 410 races. That being said it doesn't change the fact that the Outlaws are still the Outlaws and ASCS will still be a bush league series.

Here in Ohio it is no contest, the WoO crowds are more than triple ANY 360 crowd. BTW, who said the WoO does not have a TV package? Aren't the ASCS tour races on Vs.? I don't even have that network.

I have been to several ASCS races this year. That is regional races. I haven't been to any National ASCS races, or WoO for that matter, this year. I did see a couple of USAC events. That's the beauty of living in Tucson, I can see sprint car races in Phx and winged sprint car races in Tuc. and Cali is close enough to go see both as well.

It is a dam shame that indiana is a wingless state. But of course that is only because usac`s is headquartered in indiana.

Really? There's no passing in 410 racing? In that video clip is one example why 410 racing remains strong in certain areas. Show me any proof or clips that show ASCS having better or atleast as good as racing.

the woo does have most of the top 10 current sprint drivers in the country, those same driver also rank as better funded teams, the not so great woo result drivers like Sides, and bruce show up at an ASCS deal and it quickly show they are well above the level of most the ascs drivers. I think there are many more people who saw the WOO than who saw the ASCS national tour. many of the ascs shows seem better because their format is better, I will support both when they are in my area, will travel to either for two day shows if nothing as good is closer. really would have to think to remember how many of each I saw

And the exact same can be said about the ascs "NATIONAL" tour. I live in the heart of sprint car country. Where are they?

Okay, say a WoO and a ASCS National race where within 20 miles of each other at similar tracks.
Where would the crowd be?
I'd be at the 410, best drivers, and best equipment race. WoO without a doubt.
With all due respect, Gary Wright is a great driver.

I don't watch the Nascar truck races but my buddies that do all agree they are far better racing than the Cup series. Yet which series draws the bigger crowd?
The biggest problem the 360 series has to overcome is the perception that they are a lesser class of car. It all started when they were called "limited sprints" at Knoxville.
The 360 Nationals is always some of the best racing of the year but I'm afraid too many fans still see them as the B class and the 410's as the REAL race cars.

The only thing the "big names" do for me is remind me that my team runs pretty f-ing well with shit that these heros wouldn't even piss on for equipment.
...Are woo guys talented? .......they better be, they race 90+ nights a year don't they?
Can you learn to be good with that kinda seat time and real deep pockets?.....Tyler Walker comes to mind. Tore up a ton of shit before even being competitive with outlaws in daddies car.
Ascs races are hands down, better to watch. At the regional events I saw this year, nearly everyone who started the feature could have took home the win.
Out of 90+ nights how many different winners did woo end up with?

13 WoO shows
2 ASCS National Shows
2 ASCS Regional Shows
I drove 5 hours to watch the WoO when the ASCS were within 20 miles from my house...WoO are hands down the best...I love sprint cars...and really love the winged ones...but i will choose a 410 race over a 360 race without even thinking about it...what comes to mind is Husets. i live 7 miles from that track and never miss a week there...when you watch the 360 race and then watch the 410 race there, you definately see the difference in the racing...the 410s get into traffic and its so exciting to watch...i have seen Dobmeier lap all the way up to 5th place this year...with 18 cars starting...i think 410s on a track like Kville is just a follow the leader...they belong on the bullrings where horsepower takes a backseat to skill...i am still a supporter of any sprint car series...its just overall good for the sport of SPRINT CAR racing...

A NATIONWIDE SCHEDULE
|
It's now Novenber 20, 2008. The ASCS announced their "national" series 3 months ago with a major press conference at the Knoxville Nationals.
So they've had 90+ days to develop and publish a schedule for 2009; but other than a couple of full page ads in NSSN(one of which used a picture of WoO cars) reiterating the announcement, I've seen nothing concerning a schedule. How can they expect teams to align sponsors nad make commitments to something that, up to this point, has been like some software company's stuff - vaporware?
I'm not saying that they won't pull it together; but I am saying that 2009 is coming soon.......
And yeah, the WoO hasn;t published their 2009 deal yet, either, but the WoO has 30 years of somewhat traditional dates from previous years. Those tracks/dates will most likely recur for 2009.
Chuck.....
