Just a quick note for the old timers, Velma Suggs, widow of veteran racer D.E. Suggs, passed quietly Sat. October 25th @ 9:45 P.M.

Velma had been suffering from health problems which worsened last week. Will let you guys know when funeral arragements are made.

A lot of people don't know, since we started racing with D.E. in 1978, Velma was like a 2nd mother to us keeping us in line. Even after D.E. passed, she still came to the races every week just to be part of the crew. She was a sometimes very silent sponser who would help out with money for a tire etc.

She went a million miles racing with us & always had a smile. She will be missed.

D.E. once told me that sometimes if he wasn't driving, he didn't care to go to the races. But then, his Wife made him go most times when he was only a spectator. He was a lucky man.

RIP Mrs. Suggs
