A post on another message board claims that a legendary driver may compete in this year's Western World at Manzy next month...
The King, Steve Kinser
...in a Traditional Sprint Car Show once again!
...no idea as to the validity of this rumor, but it was also stated that apparently Steve attended last Wednesday's practice session at Manzy and may return at the next, sans barn door!
WOW!!! That would be HUGE!!!
Rumors...ya gotta love 'em!

I read the same post. It appears that the rumor may just be a fact. Why else would the King practice @ Manzy without the barn door? To bad he has conflicting Outlaw dates and would be unable to run the Oval Nationals. You're right it would be huge.

I'm not sure how true that rumour is, saw it first on the main Hosehead forum.. You know the ABC MOTORSPORTS forumTrip, there are car owners, drivers, push truck guys, firefighters, Mazy reps and track workers on there all the time and not a peep about Kinser being at the practice or anything else about him for that matter. Has anyone who was there and watched him run posted anything anywhere, I don't think so.. I would think that Sammy would be a more logical choice for a rumour. In fact, I think Sammy and Kevin will run together again----someday..

You may be right Kenny. The rumor is all over the IOW board also, forgot to check the ABC Board. I believe Kevin Swindell will be at both the PAS and Manzy in the #10 sprinter from Norcal. I believed that Sammy is suspended or black flagged from USAC as a result of last year's incident involving Clayton at the Oval Nationals (not 100% sure of that though).

I am beginning to think it may be a big joke played by someone - somewhere. Manzy track photographer was at the practice session, that reportedly Kinser attended, and he reports (over on hoseheads) that Kinser was a no show for that practice night at Manzy. Good detective work Kenny.

The rumor is that they are going to lift Sammy's suspension for the Nationals and the Western if he promises not to play to rough with the kids and he stays between Stewart and the USAC officials if he shows up at the Western, he will be in town.
Jac was the one out of that bunch who really got around Manzy at the Western in the day's when they had it messed up with the non-wing show only on Friday. He's taken some bad rides at that place with and without wings, but he always stands on it there. Well I guess he stands on it everywhere, LOL but he can stand on it longer there..BIG SMILE

tripcrwn and bigfish, you guys are both wrong Sammy was not suspended, so no lifting is needed. Both you guys just love to start rumors. Get a life.

If you scroll back and look at my post concerning Sammy, I stated that I was not 100% sure of his suspension. Instead of being a smart ass, and because of your seemingly close association with Ostling, you could have simply stated that there was no suspension according to the USAC/CRA Official you are so proud of quoting.

And why don't you pull your pants out of you're tight a**..LOL Don't you know a joke when you read it? Sammy standing between Tony and the USAC officials and play nice with the kids ...Oh sure, I was dead serious about the whole thing.. You need a attitude adjustment and come see me when it's fixed and maybe just maybe, oh never mind, it'll never work.

Come on now, tell me you were kidding and that you're smarter than that. You never really thought this quote was serious did you?
