Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Ocean Speedway & Thunderbowl Raceway


Concord, NC October 13, 2008

WHAT The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series visits California for the final time in 2008 this weekend with a return to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville on Friday, October 17, followed by a stop at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare on Saturday, October 18. The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has raced three times at Ocean Speedway with the most recent event coming in 2002. Three different drivers have won with the series at the �-mile, while in the seven events at Thunderbowl Raceway seven different drivers have been victorious. With five events remaining on the 2008 schedule, Donny Schatz leads Jason Meyers by 138 points in the championship standings.

WHEN

On Friday, October 17 at Ocean Speedway, the pit gates will open at Noon Pacific, with the grandstands also opening at Noon Pacific.

On Saturday, October 18 at Thunderbowl Raceway, the pits will be open all day, with pit sign-in taking place at 3 p.m. Pacific, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Pacific.

WHERE

Ocean Speedway is located in Watsonville, California. Travel 2 miles east of Watsonville on SR 152 (track located at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds).

Thunderbowl Raceway is located in Tulare, California. Travel West of State Road 99 on SR 137, then 0.5 miles south on K, then east (track located at the fairgrounds).
