Editing what you don't like David? I didn't know you ran a "moderated" board. I'll note that accordingly. So much for the right to free speech huh? wink

Quit trying to be a smart azz on your posts when a series is trying something new. If your going to be a smart azz then start your own thread, don't use this one with information on it.

EZ there David, take a deep breath. Sure I poked fun of this deal and it's announced payout. I am aware of your dealings within the NCRA, but there sure wasn't any personal intent. I didn't realize you bled NCRA blood so much that posting something not in favor to you resulted in 'censorship'. My goodness.

If this 'new deal' was for the betterment of sprint car racing, I could of posted a much lighter post. The reasons are obvious as to why the NCRA all of sudden decides to add a 305 class. If there wasn't another series up there doing this deal already, adding this class wouldn't be happening. Period!

Maybe I'm the only one to post a zinger on a whopping $500 to win structure, but there are several in the sprint car racing circles cracking up over it as soon as they saw your post. Hell, street stocks are known to run for this kind of first place cash. As one person quipped the other day about the purse payout "One win will just about cover my wifes new pair of shoes." I thought that was quite funny myself wink

PS: As to your statement about not posting to "this" thread. Was there something in the rules I missed? I have NEVER EVER had a board moderator state that we shoulnd't post replies to certain threads. That's a new one to me.

I actually like KOP's thinking on this one. Why are they trying to re-invent the wheel? KOP, I agree the purses aren't much. But we really aren't spending a lot either comparitively. With the URSS rules, it's pretty close to an IMCA stock car cost wise I suspect. I have no idea what the NCRA motor rules will be yet so that is a factor I can't really comment on. It's a shame, I had a blast running at 81 this year until the car quit. I was hoping we would go back there again. I guess that's probably not going to happen. Smile

Grow up

You do what you see is for the betterment of OCRS and let NCRA do what they feel they need to do on their end.

And as far as monitoring, that is the beauty of having your own message board.

Actually I was Discussing, not Bashing. I run with the URSS in KS, and that's where I am staying. I merely was opening what I thought could be a constructive dialog. Not wanting anyone to defend or justify anything. The thread caught my eye and I thought it could be entertaining in a debate kind of way, not and angry kind of way.......

I'm all about class.....low class, but class none the less..I actually ran across it trying to see if a guy we race with from Woodward had been racing lately and this caught my eye for obvious reasons.

David, as you well know, we have never had crossed words before. We have always had the occassional simple chit chats when we crossed paths at the races. Why you came out so hardstrung towards my post is a little puzzling. I poked a little fun at the 305 deal and you got a little hot under the collar by it. I must say that I'm surprised you let it get to you like that. Guess your just the sensative type wink

Not sure what the heck the OCRS mention is about. There was NEVER a mention of them nor any comparison to that group at all. I was only speaking openly as a race fan in general.

Your right about the beauty of being able to monitor your own board. If you choose to censorship posts from users like myself just because you don't agree with something that's said, isn't that the same as being an editor of a communist newspaper? wink

down here south of the border (oklahoma/tejas border that is) are hoping they go with the spec head deal. alot of the other 305 series with more-less open rules are stuck being competitive only with themselves. our deal works well down here... hope for the best.

Nojoke, do you run the racesaver deal where you are at? I've been curious for a while what HP/TQ those motors make. We run a spec World products head here and I was curious how close the motors were.

Later!

Heard that the racesaver motor has about 20 to 25 less horsepower than the ones that the URSS runs with the World Products head

The pay is not great, but depending what they do on the motor rules you can still race a 305 sprint cheaper than okc factory stock. Not to mention the racing is a lot better. I have never been a big sprint car fan untill i watched the urss 305's at dodge city this year. Way better racing than i have ever seen the 2-barrels put on. I still am courious if urss and ncra can both surive a 305 class primarley in Kansas.

That remains to be seen. We really don't have anything in the SE or E right now,. Depending on how it schedules, there are a lot of racetracks. I guess it's going to be an interesting winter..lol.

I know I will continue to run the URSS series next year. They have been great, a lot of good people good car counts and just fun racing. We had 38 or so at Hays earlier in the year and I am pretty sure 39 at Dodge a couple of weeks ago. There were several nights with 30 cars.

It's a lot of fun for sure and it gives a lot more people the chance to drive one.

Now, my personal opinion is that maybe NCRA could go back to a little more affordable motor and pick some cars up from our series as a stepping stone. We have the cars now, but the ASCS type motor is a huge cost increase. Something in between the two and I think they would be on to something.

Cory, you know C Ray is always one to listen. Why don't you give him a call and let him know your thoughts on what you would like to see happen on the 305 rules?

I've tried a couple of times David, just never got an answer. Sent an e-mail too. It is what it is. I don't speak for any body but me, it's the only thing I have any control over. I would love to see 360's come back in KS, but it doesn't really look good right now. If a promoter wants to start a another series far be it from me to second guess. I just probably won't run it if I don't like what I see.

Have a great one guys!
