I am just an outsider looking in. I live up above Sacramento and have a long love of sprint car racing. I rarely attend a race in the north state as we have them winged things up here. But I have been making the journey to the Ovals now for many years. The facility is the finest race plant I have ever been to. The track is wonderful, the lighting is fantastic, and the announcer is one of the finest there is, he makes the evening better than just some good racing. You should feel very blessed to have the PAS!

I would have to think that most of the the deal with the purse reduction is the big unknowns of this mess we are in with the upside down economy. I have always felt that the Kazarians are people that care about their fans, the racers as well as thier business. And we must keep in mind that they face the biggest risks of anyone in the equation as far as money is concerned. If they put on a show and nobody shows up, the are out big time. I can totally understand them taking a somewhat conservative roll in the guaranteed purse. I have not seen it anyhwere that says that if all three nights are full house that they are not planning on paying out more. But I can say that the past several Ovals have seen some pretty thin stands for the Thursday night program. Now I do not fault anyone for that, I see that it is a bitch to get around in that part of the state on a commute night and I am there as a racing vacation, so I do not have to fight traffic and such. But look at the NASCAR Cup races lately, empty stands and this is surely a result of the economy and the effect it is having on the average race fan. So I see no reason to fault the Kazarians for being conservative, hell they are still putting on great race events at a first class facility so let's just think positive and hope for the best.

I know I will be there, tickets already purchased, and motel already booked. I cannot wait for the green flag.

Rick

Very nice post Rick!

fine I'll delete it, but it won't change the facts

I NEVER EVER SAID PERRIS WAS SCREWED UP!!!!

I SAID VENTURA (and other tracks) out promoted them. enuf said.

I was going to support Perris this weekend, but with your attitude, and an email I recieved and I quote from a friend "let's see....Perris...hot, dusty, 3 heats, 120 miles.... Ventura....cool ocean breeze, tacky track, 4 heats, 10 miles, ...

lol...it's a no brainer for me....even though I wouldn't mind seeing Damion....
I'll stick with Ventura....

Nice picture, by the way...lol"

You know maybe I should join my friends in Ventura, they have better attitutes.

Kinda sorry, I was actually looking forward to going to Perris and seeing Damion, COry, Tony, Cole Whitt, etc etc battle it out.

Gods honest truth that is a real email I recieved, swear on any bible. You guys are a class act!

What a warm welcome to get more fans to come.

And to think, I try to recruit people from Ventura to come to Perris all the time, unfortuanetly they read this message board too.

Peace

Support Your Your Local Short Track (Even other tracks than Perris wink )

Hey Buzzard, if I remember you are a Speedway fan. Tomorrow sometime between 10:00 and 11:30 AM, you can watch the final round of the 2008 World Speedway Championship live from Bydgoszcz, Poland. It is free and the address is: http://www.justin.tv/daave1

I don't know Buzzard, haven't decided my mind up yet. Probably jump in my car and whichever way the wind is blowing that will be the way I head Saturday.

Besides nobody knows what I look like so hopefully I won't get beat up at Perris if I go there, and contrary to what my friend says, there will be 4 good heat races and you know Damion and Cory will cause some sparks as they always do. The way I look at it, you can't lose on Saturday, both shows are winners. Smile this week !!! with extra cars (and extra cash at Ventura)

Scott.
I am indeed a speedway fan, I will be watching for sure thank you for the heads up.

JD.

The modifieds will be good too, when I have caught them at the PAS they have put on a good show.
The prospect of extra guys dialing in their rides for the nationals is pretty cool. I was considering a run out to the PAS but I might just save up all my roadrage for the commute to one of the Oval nationals nights...

One of my Perris friends reminded me that the WOO guys are in action too at Tulare this weekend, Damn there is just too many great sprint car racing at 3 great facility's this weekend, too bad they are all on the same night.

Kinda leaning towards Perris this Saturday, than Trophy Cup at Tulare for a couple nights, than CRA at Ventura, 3 nights at Perris which is hands down the best nights of sprint car racing anywhere on the planet, than head on over and check out the redone Manzy facilty for 3 nights of action, take in a Cup race on the hill side on Sunday.

Than fill in the rest of the year with some CRA races, the big money VRA races at Ventura, and I know some here dislike the Turkney Night Grand Prix, but I really enjoy seeing some great pavement open wheel racing at Irwindale for a change, 3 classes of racing with some great equipment. After seeing 10 months of great dirt racing all year at Perris, Ventura and even Indiana SPrint Week, it kinda refreshing to see one pavement show a year.

No matter where anyone goes this Saturday, Tulare, Ventura, Perris, there will be some of the best sprint car racers in the country at some of the best tracks in the country and the weather looks to be awesome. But for me nothing is better than seeing Tony, Damion, Cory, Sheridan, etc, etc kick some dirt or even dust. Have fun at the races everyone!!!!!!!!! (We all could be stuck in the midwest but we got another 2 months of racing or so, and Jackslach is gonna have a helluva Bikini contest to boot at the Ovals, not sure my female friends are so excited but you can't please everyone)

Not to be a wise guy, but with 50 + entries, it looks like the fan portion of the additional purse works out to about $20/ team.......($1002/50 = ~$20), about 1/2 of a one night pit pass for one person......if the fan purse is equally divided among the participating teams....

So while this is a noble comcept, it appears that the delivery of the concept leaves much to be desired....IMO.

Although it is better than nothing......

Not to be a wise guy.. LOL What, do you think the boy's are stupid and delusional and they think their going to change the sprint car world? What's up with you anyhow and why would you want to throw out those negative vibes? No really, why would you try to rain on their parade?

Hope to see a lot you guys at Manzy and have a great time at the Nationals.

Kenny

Kenny. This is all he ever does.........negative remarks, like the one he said about people wanting to go to the races in Knoxville after the flooding to get their mind off all the disaster around them. He does this with every post. He thinks he some kind of righteous person............NOT!! Great to see TRUE race fan's trying to help make a little difference for the racer's whose purse has been scaled down drastically this year.

Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!
