For the fourth year in a row, Huset's Speedway paid tribute to the men and women who fight for our freedom. This year's "Patriot Day" special was held Sept 13th. On that night, all fans were let into the stands for free, while all four classes finalized their points.
The video is of the patriotic salute held prior to the evening's races.

I tried to embed the video here, but it didn't work. If anyone can figure that out... feel free to do so.
BTW: The video gets better and better as it goes on...

Hats off to Husets Speedway for a nice tribute! Who is the gentleman talking/MC? He sounds like a "young" Tom Carnegie a bit. Has a good voice for announcing for sure.

That's Mark Tassler. He, Hot Rod Pattison (of Hoseheads Radio) and I are the announcers at Huset's.
The second man to speak is Jay Masur. He owns and operates a local ambulance service. He's also the head of the Huset's rescue crew.
Glad you enjoyed the video. There weren't many dry eyes in the stands that night. While the video is nice, it certainly is something to see all the rescue and military vehicles and personnel in person.

a free show that was paid for by sponsors and yet they still couldn't do anything to improve the car count that night...what, T-mac showed up and zomer, but where else were they going to race that night??? everywhere else was rained out or done for the season. I hope this doesn't mis lead people to believe that the 'local promotors' have done a good thing here with this "free show". they still got paid and they still stuck it to the people they usually do ( everyone except dobmeier really ). If there wasn't the whole fiasco last year with cancelling the season championship night, we wouldn't even have been racing that night. last year it mattered in most of the classes on running the last night, but this year everyone pretty much had thier spots wrapped up. How that makes sense I have no idea...all I know is the dictators (NMRA board) cant kick me off this board for speaking my mind about our area's most popular track that is being drilled into the ground week in and week out. somone please save us!

some people have to complain about something...however he has a point about the promoters at husets being a joke...they are terrible and i know if the right person took over the track we could easily have over 30 410s every saturday night...

i would much rather see more cars and a better show, for 10 bucks rather than a small stock of cars and an uneventful evening for free. The rubens are like Matt Millen ( former detroit lions front office dude )...they never make the NECESSARY changes to make things better...they just make the changes that make things worse...and there is nothing you can do about it. Such a shame. If you don't believe me, look at how cheaters day has gone from a national race at the fair grounds, to a carnival circus at Huset's...the track may have changed, but the race shouldn't have. and they are only paying 2 grand more to win ( $3000 ) compaired to in 1964 the supermodified race was 1000 to win...2 grand in 48 years...wow.
