I was at Kokomo earlier this year talking to John Hoover in the parking lot before the races when I looked up and spotted a couple guys walking toward us that looked familiar. I thought to myself,that looks like Rob Richards,and Garry Rooke. Sure enough it was,and Rob said to me "I knew we'd find you here"!
They told me they had bought a car,and I thought they were just gonna ship it home to race at Parramatta City Raceway. Then they told me it was a non wing car,and they planned on racing it in Indiana. They ran here quite a few times till they had motor trouble at Lawrenceburg. Told me they'd be back next year.
Garry is a super guy. Always has a smile on his dial.
