Sprint Invaders Tripleheader This Weekend in the Land of Lincoln!

(Bill W) The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders hit Illinois this weekend for three great nights of action at three distinctly different racing facilities! An already action-packed weekend got more exciting with the addition of a Sunday make-up date at the Quincy Raceways. The Quincy race will be tacked on to an exciting racing weekend already in place that includes the Herb Barlow Memorial at the Morgan County Speedway on Friday and the Tom Knowles Memorial at the Spoon River Speedway on Saturday.

The point battle will play itself before your eyes. Just 29 points separate first through fourth in the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders standings, and three of the five remaining races commence this weekend. John Schulz is the point leader, just nine markers ahead of Bobby Mincer. A mere nine points separate Josh Schneiderman and Matt Rogerson in third and fourth, while Ryan Jamison, Korey Weyant, Matt Harms, Jimmy Davies, Nick Eastin and Jordan Goldesberry complete the top ten!

Leading off on Friday night is the ¼ mile banked Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville. The Sprint Invaders will race for $1500 to win, and will be joined by the popular POWRi Midgets to form the traditional open-wheel doubleheader. Jerrod Hull became the first series repeat winner at the historic facility last May. Before Jerrod's win, there had been seven different winners in Jacksonville Sprint Invaders competition. For more information, visit www.MorganCountySpeedway.com!

Saturday night, the 25th Annual Tom Knowles Memorial will again play host to the sprints and the midgets. This will mark the first Sprint Invaders visit to the high-banked 3/8 mile speed-plant since their inaugural 2002 season. That year, Mincer and Bobby Hawks were victorious. Promoter Manny Rockhold is putting up $1500 to win the feature, and is paying the temporary membership fees for any non-Sprint Invader member! However, only drivers purchasing full memberships receive heat and dash money at Sprint Invaders shows. It will be high speed edge-of-your-seat racing at the Spoon!

On Sunday night, the newly reconfigured 3/8 mile Quincy Raceways will play host to the Sprint Invaders as part of their Tri-State Modified Shootout special. The race was rescheduled from last Sunday's rainout. Ricky Logan and Matt Sutton are previous winners in Quincy. There will be $1200 on the line. For more information, visit www.QuincyRaceways.com.

Hey Bill!

Is it really $12,000 to win on Friday?!? That would be a really big race for a 360!

Bill W is a really nice guy! The word is that he will pay the additional $10,800. He's got it.

A couple of corrections have been made in the above release!

1. The race at the Morgan County Speedway will now pay $1500 instead of $1200!

2. Only drivers with full Sprint Invaders memberships receive dash and heat money. Mr. Rockhold is purchasing temporary memberships only at Spoon River on Saturday!

Thanks...

I think this weather will give Billy a heart attack before the payout does!! Mother Nature is about to push him over the edge and she won't back off. Fingers are crossed for tomorrow but we had alot of rain today, it is raining now, and 2" forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Will post asap as soon as he makes any decisions.
