Terry McCarl was DQ'd for a 'sound level violation'
I think that pretty much answers my question.

If that passes they just as well hold the Nationals out at Slideways, they have enough stands to hold the crowd.

I was at a track today and heard drinking be talked about.....I also heard that they would like to make first offence DUI mandatory 6mo jail time and a $10,000 fine...That's just what I heard, everybody was wondering what the fine and jail time was going to be for repeat offenders... Doesn't sound good....

If someone goes into an environment (bars, clubs, racetracks ect.....) where there's smokers, they have no right to bitch about it. Personal responsibility needs to take over. People don't need legislation to help them make a personal decision.
That being said, anyone busted drinking and driving should be strung up by their genitals and flogged with a baseball bat with nails ran through it. 6 months and a $10,000 fine isn't enough punishment. If you've got enough money to get shitfaced, you've got enough money to call a cab or get a friend/relative to drive you home.

I always felt that one solution to the OWI/DWI problem would be to confiscate the vehicle used in the commission of the crime like they do in drug busts. I don't imagine it would take long to cure people when they lose their 4-wheel drive pick up or only family car on the way home from the tavern or if some kid driving Dad's car loses it to the authorities on the way home from a kegger. Anyone agree?
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Depends on what happens to it after they confiscate it. If they auctioned it off and gave the proceeds to the local highschool sports or music programs, as examples, I'd be all for it.
If they just held it for awhile then gave it back, then it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

Hell Iowa has always been tough on drinking one of the only places I have been arrested for public drunkenness while walking to avoid driving drunk. And that was in 79 at the nationals
