On a night that started out pretty disappointing in terms of race action for the non-wing return at Calistoga Tim Kaeding, Jesse Hockett, Brent Kaeding and Kevin Swindell put on a fierce battle like you have never seen on a rubber down race track. This race will be etched in my racing memories until alzheimer's strikes.
My crappy video does not do this justice. I shot this with a pistol grip digital camera that i aimed like a radar gun while I was watching the battle. Play it full screen from YouTube if you can. Fear not... USAC had a camera rolling, so look for some real footage on their web site sometime soon.

Yep, that was me. We really enjoyed shooting the breeze with you. I'm looking forward to seeing some real footage of Saturday's main.

After the Saturday heats do you remember saying, "you sure are filming some boring races?"
You also said the main would have to be pretty good to cause your return sunday!
My question is, did you come back sunday.
Your Saturday seats were full of Danny Sheridan shirts on sunday.

Yep... that A main was awesome. We went home so damn satisfied that we decided it could only be topped at the Gold Cup.
How was the action on Sunday?

Answer to "are you back?" is, not really.
I have waited for that show for just as many years as the rest of you.
It really was pretty good stuff, huh.
Dean Mills was going to fly out from Indy to do it but got a better gig back there so he asked me to do it for him.
