just wondering what the 1998 johnny key classic winner will be doing this fri when the 48th edition of the classic rolls to the starting line. ronnie as a driver has a secured starting spot in the race via his run in the last qualifying race leading up to the key. ronnie drove the #20 werbach sprinter in place of regular driver bud kaeding who had other commitments that night. the question is.. does day have a ride for the key? if ronnie does not race that would, by my unofficial calculations, bump brother keith day into the show by virtue of his series point standings.

Man that kind of creates a catch 22. I was wondering and hoping that maybe Keith would let Ronnie drive his car like he did earlier in the year, but now if Keith is that close to getting into the show I don't know if he will.
I'm saying this because as of last week Tyler Walker will not be there on Friday as he has a commitment to compete in Kasey Kahne's 2nd sprint car this weekend. That would mean even if Ronnie did run, then Keith would have a spot already.

Hmm... does that mean there will be a seat open in the 24 car that tyler usually runs? and could ronnie find himself in it?

It sounded like the 24 team was going to get things ready for the Outlaw swing and it sounded like they'd be heading up to either Elma or Cottage Grove. I can't remember 100% though as I can't exactly remember what dates Tyler was going to run the 19 car.

so if ronnie and/or tyler are not there that would possibly leave the door open for the next two drivers in points. again unoffically, that would be keith day and jerry bonnema.
