Alger, WA - Travis Rutz and the Rudeen Racing Team are "en fuego" as the race season winds to a close at Skagit Speedway. Following his 360 Nationals win, Rutz led all 25 laps of the yourgreengoods.com Outlaw 410 Sprint main at Skagit Speedway on Banner Bank / Angel of the Winds Casino night. Rutz took the lead from the pole position after a six car invert and was unchallenged for the duration of the main. "I have to thank my crew...these guys are the best!...I always believed in defending your home turf, so when they (the World of Outlaws) come to townnext week, I think we have something for them" remarked Rutz in his post race interview. Brock Lemley was second in the Jansma Construction #4. Third was Barry Martinez in the Artisan Homes #66. Jesse Whitney was quick time in the Twin City Collision #88 at 11.732. Heat wins went to Eric Fisher in the JNR Paving #59 and Lemley.
Alan Munn and Jason Bloodgood had a breathtaking back and forth race for the lead in the Budweiser 360 Sprints. Munn started on the outside of the front row and beat Bloodgood into the first corner. For the duration of the main, it was Munn on the cushion with Bloodgood hooking up to the bottom of the track. Back and forth it went with the two drivers trading punches like a pair of Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, with Munn taking home the final glory, crossing under the flagstand first in his Munn Construction #42. Bloodgood was second in the Industrial Supply #38. Third went to Shane Broers in the Firedown Graphics #11. Fast Time was Brian Kirkpatrick in his Jet City Equipment #5k at 12.169. Heat wins went to Bloodgood and Broers.
Lyle Woods returned to victory lane at Skagit Speedway following an almost year and a half layoff, taking the lead from Kyle Oman on lap the fending off Oman for the remaining 12 laps of the stop/start/stop/start Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprint main event. Woods took his Jet City Equipment #12k to the bottom on Oman on the bottom of turn three coming to the completion of the eighth lap, then managed to keep Oman in his Louis Auto Glass #6 pinned to the high groove where he couldn't muster enough momentum to re-pass Woods. Third was points leader Kelsey Carpenter in the Action Cleaning #79k. Heat race wins went to Devin Madonia in the Snohomish Roofing #42 and Carpenter.
Travis Meins took a taxi cab to victory in the Wilson Auto Brokers Outlaw Hornets. Driving the NY Taxi themed car, Meins hooked up to high groove coming out of turn four on the 15 lap to take the lead and the win, completing a team GTS sweep as teammates Ben Gunderson and Freddy Vela finished second and third. Heat wins went to Eric Vicker and Karl Dahl.
