Just a question for you sir, Will we ever see another NFL pre-season game in Norman again ?? I thought the game between the KC Chiefs & Tampa Bay Bucs was great. Was that a one-time deal?? Or did it lose $$ for he University ?? I think a pre-season game between the Chiefs & the Cowboys would be great at Norman. Thanks.

yeah but the Cotton Bowl as well as the University of Texas stadiums would make major arguments to get preseason games. and also - the Cowboy stadium in Irving loses money if it is anywhere else. I'm sure the stadium in Irving still makes a ton of money even in preseason games.
but i agree - it would be cool. i just doubt the likelihood.
sorry to intervene. i think i'm gonna write a letter to the NCAA so that 5Can Mossman can play in our world famous fantasy league. I mean - they need to know the legend of Mossman - truly one of the greats! i can hear the chants now ---- "5CAN!" "5CAN!" "5CAN"
this may sound absurd. but in the sadistic and twisted mind of the commish - it all makes perfect sense

MJM, I've been here for seven years and have never heard any discussion about an NFL game. And honestly there is little discussion of the one that occurred a few years ago. I doubt that the university lost money -- if it's going to be in our stadium, we get our revenue up front so the only risk would be to the pro teams or the promoter that was putting on the game. Can't really give you a good reason as to why we have not had one. I haven't paid much attention -- are NFL teams still moving around their preseason games. With as much money as they have to turn these days, I would think they would want most if not all of those games played in their own stadiums.
OKC, I would OWN that fantasy league. Be careful what you wish for

Sprints -- you have OU football rated one spot too low.

You're probably right I'll fix that right now My 13 year old has played traveling baseball for 7 years - so it's kinda our way of life! But OU totally rules!!!!!! I'll be sending both kids there for 8 years each

What about concerts ?? I saw the Stones there a a few years ago & I had a B LA S S T !!
I still think an NFL pre-season game would be a big draw . How about The Vikings & somebody?? See AD running one more time for a cross-country TD ??

That would be fun to see AD back here. Not sure why the concert thing hasn't happened again, although I imagine that the desire to not sell alcohol in the stadium (or at LNC for that matter) probably has something to do with it.
