October 17, 2006 Mincer wins Cedar County Fair race
By Stacy Ervin
Bobby Mincer of Burlington dominated the night at the Sprint Invaders Association race at the Cedar County Fair in Tipton on Sunday, July 13.
Mincer won his heat race and came from the last row to win the Shake-Up Dash before drawing a four pill for the invert in the 25-lap main event. That put Ryan Jamison on the pole for the A-Main.
Jamison led at the outset of the feature event but Mincer stormed up from his fourth-place starting position and disposed of Jamison in the opening laps of the race.
The race's only caution flag came out on lap eight when John Hall spun in turn one. When the race resumed, Mincer stayed out front and held the lead through heavy lapped traffic on the small track.
Jerrod Hull passed Jamison to get the second spot. Jamison finished third. Nick Eastin was fourth and John Schulz rounded out the top five.
Aside from Mincer, other drivers winning their heat races were Hull and Josh Schneiderman. The only major accident of the night came when Jordan Goldesberry rode out several hard flips off of the backstretch.

Not sure I'd call it a great show. Bobby was super fast all night and the best part of the night was his last-to-first charge in the dash, but otherwise it was pretty boring.

And yes, the track was very slick, and dusty. Sucks to get a track like that.

I see Rogerson finished third in his heat. He must have not got his usual front row for his heat.

I was just repeating what the fan from the stands were telling us after the races. The ones I spoke to really enjoyed the show and would love to have us back again next year. I would agree it wasn't a barn burner but the guys and girl really gave it their all for every position. The cedar county fair is a race I have looked forward to all summer because the fans really get excited about racing. I was happy that it didn't lock down rubber like last year. Drivers were using every inch of the track trying to find some grip. Bob really made it look easy. We have quit a points race shaping up. I only wish my car was in it.
