Geving and Chicko Motorsports sign sponsorship deal with Flowmaster Mufflers

By Bill Sullivan, Chicko Motorsports Media Relations

PENNGROVE, CA (7-10-08) – The Chicko Motorsports Sprint Car team is proud to announce a new financial partnership with Flowmaster Mufflers. Flowmaster becomes the newest sponsor on the #3X Maxim Sprint Car driven by 16-year-old Alissa Geving of Penngrove. Geving is the youngest ever female driver to ever win a sprint car feature event and currently leads the All Pro point series at Petaluma Speedway.

“We’re excited to have Flowmaster Mufflers become a part of our team,” said Geving, who met with Vice President Richard Small and Nick Tauber on Thursday afternoon. “Flowmaster has been a great supporter of sprint car racing and its future. They pay close attention to the needs of racers and track promoters to balance power requirements and sound issues and that’s important in this sport. We proud to have them on board and look forward to working with them on future marketing efforts.

In 1983 California Sprint Car racers were experiencing “excessive sound” issues at numerous race tracks and were told to quiet the cars down or lose racing privileges. All attempts to silence the race engines without sacrificing power repeatedly failed.

Then, it was Flowmaster founder Ray Flugger, with over 45+ years of exhaust design experience, and while working out of a small 800 square foot barn in Kenwood, California that created Flowmaster's first patented design of racing silencers. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase muffler." These innovative mufflers were the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.

Today, Flowmaster, Inc. is housed in two ultra-modern facilities together totaling over 400,000 sq. ft., one in Santa Rosa, and the other in West Sacramento, California. Flowmaster employs over 250+ workers dedicated to building the highest quality U.S. made exhaust products available.

Flowmaster operates the only exhaust Research & Design facilities of its kind in the world, centered around the SuperFlow SF-7100 engine dynamometer complete with E.C.A. (engine cycle analysis) equipment and also SuperFlow chassis dyno's. Through use of these dyno's, Flowmasters engineering staff can track the complete engine cycle in millionths of a second and can obtain exact technical data of each degree of cam rotation, from induction to the tip of the exhaust system, while also showing the power numbers that really matter, the power numbers "to the ground." Flowmaster also utilizes Spectrum Analyzers to fine "tune" the sound of each of the eleven different series of mufflers that Flowmaster currently offers, both for peak performance and just the right sound levels and tones.

Flowmasters product line includes exhaust products for

Performance Street
, Muscle cars, Trucks, Street Rods, RV's, Motorhomes, and all types of race applications. With over 400 different muffler models, 370+ exhaust systems and numerous exhaust accessories available, Flowmaster offers you the choice of sound to fit your sound preference from "wild to mild" and of your specific vehicle needs. Call our experienced tech staff for live help and detailed information regarding your vehicles.

With Ray still active and "hands on" with the R&D department in the development, not only of new exhaust products, but also with new technologies currently being tested in third and new R&D facility, the future looks to be very exciting indeed.

This weekend, Geving will race two straight nights. On Friday night she will return to one of her favorite tracks, Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Geving will be a teammate to longtime colleague Mason Moore as she straps into the Garth Moore owned Moore Insurance Services secondary car for the night.

Saturday, Geving returns to Petaluma Speedway to continue her campaign in the weekly All Pro point series. On this night, she will have her own teammate as JoJo Helberg, the 2008 CASA Asphalt Sprint Car Champion will pilot the Chicko Motorsports back up sprint car for the evening.

Alissa Gevings’ title sponsors include Pit Stop USA, Matt Cordeiro Enterprises, Tillett Tool, Auto Repairs Unlimited. Additional sponsors include Flowmaster, A1A Performance Muffler, Parker Stores, Kalembas Tire Center, Rossi Auto Body, Afex Graphics, ALC Machine ,21st Century Health Club, Butler Specialties, Vanlare Steering Repair, Jeremy’s Chair Repair, Hose Doctor, Fast Lube Plus ALC Machine and Butler Built Safety Seats.
