Mason Moore set for Moore Insurance Services Night on Friday/ Team car to make another start

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA – July 8, 2008…Following a less than hoped for outing at the Silver Dollar Speedway over the 4th of July weekend, “Primetime” Mason Moore will look to get back on track this coming weekend as another double-header is on tap at the quarter-mile bullring located in Chico.

This past weekend saw Moore compete in the 14th Feather Falls Casino point race of the season on Friday at Silver Dollar and qualify seventh fastest, before lining-up on the pole of the feature. The 17 year-old dropped back a couple spots early on and then bicycled in turns three and four, resulting in him coming to a stop and having to go to the rear of the field.

Moore continued on but dropped out later in the race and was officially placed 18th in the rundown. The Princeton driver came back on Saturday and transferred through the B-main to put him in the ninth row of the 30 lap feature. Moore got up to as high as 11th, before losing a couple spots and finishing 13th in the Golden State Challenge Series sanctioned main event.

This Friday night will find Moore and the Rolling Hills Casino, NOS Energy Drink No. 22 in competition at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico once again. The evening of racing will mark the 15th point event of the Feather Falls Casino season and will be sponsored by Moore Insurance Services Inc, which is owned by his father Garth and is one of the main sponsors on the 22 sprint car.

In addition to Mason competing during Moore Insurance Services Inc. Night, the team’s back-up car will be driven by fellow youngster Alissa Geving during Friday’s action. The 16 year-old female driver is the current Petaluma Speedway point leader and also sits seventh in the California Civil War Series standings. Geving made a pair of starts in weekly competition at Silver Dollar in early April and scored a best finish of sixth during the opening night of racing.

"We're looking forward to running both cars on Friday and hope the fans have a good time on our night," said team owner Garth Moore. "I'm glad we can give Alissa an opportunity to get back to Chico and run a 410. We'll look to have both run up front on Friday and then try and get Mason near the front of the field with GSC on Saturday."

On Saturday Moore will be back at the Silver Dollar Speedway to compete with the Golden State Challenge Series for the second weekend in a row. “Primetime” ranks third in the track standings and will look to run up front against the top 410 drivers in all of California on Saturday. The front gate will open at 5pm with adult tickets costing $16, juniors $11 and kids $5. For more info on the big upcoming weekend visit
