PENNGROVE, CA (7-4-08) – Sixteen year old Alissa Geving has a busy weekend ahead of her. The current Petaluma All Pro Series point leader will trek to Placerville Speedway on Friday, July 4th to compete in the US Army-Gold Country Limousines July Fourth Spectacular. The rare visit to the sierra foothill track will provide an opportunity to prepare for an upcoming Civil War event later in the month and at the same time celebrate Independence Day with the company of her family team and race fans as Placerville Speedway presents a fireworks display following the races.

“I’m looking forward to going back to Placerville Speedway,” said Geving. “I am really use to racing on the tacky tracks like Petaluma but I have really grown to like the drier, slicker tracks like Placerville. We’re looking forward to making the trip and spending the fourth of July there.”

Before taking to the track on Friday, Geving and her Chicko Motorsports #3x sprint car will be on hand at Food 4 Less in Cameron Park at the request of the area grocery chain. Geving will appear together with Placerville driver Andy Gregg from . Until at

3333 Coach Lane
in Cameron Park. Race fans that are traveling to Placerville Speedway for the fourth of July are urged to stop and visit both drivers while picking up supplies to show support for the local business that has supported Placerville Speedway for three straight years.

On Saturday, Geving returns to her home track of Petaluma Speedway as the Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Series makes its second appearance of the year there. This will be a prime opportunity for Geving to zero in on her series rookie of the year campaign as she competes with California’s best drivers on a track that she is very familier with.

With six races complete in the 15 race Civil War Sprint Car Series, Geving ranks 10th in the point standings of the series dedicated to winged 360 cubic inch sprint cars. She has one top five finish and two top 10 placements in six starts as she campaigns for the 2008 Rookie of the Year title.

“I totally love racing in the Civil War Series this year,” said Geving. “I’ve learned a lot, I’ve made a lot of great friends and its taken me to different tracks. I’m really looking forward to racing with the series back home and hopefully we can get a top finish.”
