Although it is mentioned within the context of our press release, an extra thank you to Jack & Nadine Gardner for adding an $3,000.00 to the purse for Friday's USAC/CRA race at The PAS. The top finishing 360 will earn an extra $1,500.00. The winner of the A main will take home an extra $1,000.00, 2nd place an extra $300.00 and 3rd place and extra $200.00.

A waggle of cash for the 360's to show up. Just a sign of the times to get transporters to put fuel in the tank and travel. Can't blame a promoter for doing what they need to do to get cars in the pits. There are some tracks in the mid-west that are waving cash to 305 sprints (yes, I said 305's) to sign in. UGH!

The "Race Within a Race" for the 360s, should
prove interesting.
Can they use 5%?

It's their money, and they can spend it any way that they like, but am I the only one who thinks that $1500 spread among the bottom 15 cars would attract more cars/participants to the track than a normal, front loaded purse increase? That would be $100/car, and would probably mean a LOT more to those teams that run towards the back, than $1000 more to the winner - not that $1000 is a small amount.
But why not help a lot of teams, instead of a few????

They hit a home run in my mind too.....by including the 360 cars, spectators can gauge the difference and all can consider whether a change to 360's is an option and after all some lucky so and so in a 360 will walk away with $1500 of the Gardner Family's money.I expect at least 15 360's to show!

Don Flanders just called The PAS office and through his kind generosity, he is throwing $840.00 into Friday's A main event purse. The money will be going to drivers finishing 11th on back. A kind thank you goes out to Don for his sponsorship of Friday's race.

Jack cares a lot about this sport, so please offer him all the support you can, even if it's just a few words of encouragement. Let him know that his efforts are appreciated.

Jack and Nadine are not only the best owners on the west coast, but they are the biggest sprint car FANS here also. Thank you again for loving the sport like you do! All of us racers and fans alike owe the Gardners a great big debt of graditude.

Thank you to the Gardners for all of their hard work. Friday night's race should be really interesting. If I were Mr. Severson, I think I would bring out the 360 and take home the big paycheck.

Wait a minute, I just thought of something. I know that Sheridan and Spencer have run 360's this year, is it possible that they might try and run a 360 to get the $1500? But that would not work because these two are running for championship points. Just thinking out loud, anyone else have any thoughts on what dynamics this 360 money might bring to the race on Friday night?

How much to win at Ventura?
I think that too many of the 360 runners are looking for a night off with the family.
Just me thinking outloud again.

Thank you the Gardners for stepping up with 2 or 3 410 race cars at CRA/USAC races, great paying open comp sprint car races at Victorville when CRA is not racing, and now helping out the car counts for CRA races with with a lot of dough for 360 and for the top 3 places. (It would be sad for a stand alone show on the 4th of July to see only 23 cars with 3 heat races with a packed grandstand).
I was kinda hoping PAS and USAC would of tried to get extra cars by giving an incentive, or tow money, or something to get more cars out to the races. But WOW, it sure is cool to see people like the Gardners and Don Flanders trying to help with the car counts!
I heard this from a movie, every person has good intentions in life, but you judge them by there actions. I am sure USAC has good intentions. But it sure seem like the Gardner's actions are for the benefit of the sport.
Without the Gardner's support & (Kruseman's and Crossno's teams at times) the 410 racing would be kinda slim at times and I am sure all sprint car fans are very appreciative of your hard work and monetary efforts on a sport we all love and cherish.
Sounds like a good firecracker race with TK coming, some extra cars racing for the 360 cash, and who knows who might show for $3,500 to win. (Maybe even Cory will show up )

Last word from up north is that the team (TK) now is undecided. Hopefully the Gardner's extra cash will entice them. Thanks again to the Gardners and Don Flanders. Should be a good show.

The Gardener's are putting their love for the game up front. Bully! As they say!
