A few people asked about how the points scheme worked. I will post these at the next race at Santa Maria on July 26th.

Bandit/VRA Grand Slam Points Structure

(Bakersfield/Santa Maria/Ventura/Kings)

The series champion will be determined by the following point structure. The driver with the highest point total at the conclusion of the four races will be declared champion.

3. 16

4. 14

5. 12

6. 10

7. 8

8. 6

9. 4

10. 2

If an 11th or 12 car is run in any heat race, eleventh place will score 2 points as well.

"B" Main points are adjusted to the number of transfers. All transfers receive "0" points.

This system has been in place since the first event. Sorry it wasn't up, but I will include it for the remainder of events so every on knows what is up.

How about the point fund?

By design, the extra purse is the point fund. It is a short unsponsored duel meet with what amounts to double to win a normal show. To boot, it is for the racers, the fans and bragging rights.

We can add a point fund if there is a sponsor. Are you complaining or are you volunteering to sponsor the point fund or help find one??? If so that would be fantastic and everyone would love you. You'd be right popular too!

Just a question Mr. Curto. Take it easy there big guy. BTW you're doing a great job promoting the bandit series and my son and I would have been there for the race in Bakersfield, but his wife was having a planned delivery of their son that Monday. He is my racing buddy so we had to cancel out.
