Malik Obama confirms his half-brother Barack grew up a Muslim [updated]
By Israel Insider staff June 13, 2008

Malik holds a photo of Obama and him in Muslim dress, reportedly when the two first met in 1985

Apparently the Obamas of Kenya have been reading those scurrilous emails to which Barack likes to refer, because they have no doubt -- contrary to the claims of the Obama campaign, that the presidential candidate was raised a Moslem. They take that as a given.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, "Barack Obama's half brother Malik said Thursday that if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background. In an interview with Army Radio he expressed a special salutation from the Obamas of Kenya."

The Obama brothers' father, a senior economist for the Kenyan government who studied at Harvard University, died in car crash in 1982. He left six sons and a daughter. All of his children - except Malik -- live in Britain or the United States. Malik and Barack met in 1985 in the US.

"He was best man at my wedding and I was best man at his," said Malik in a 2004 interview with an AP reporter. Their paternal grandfather, Onyango Hussein Obama, was one of the first Muslim converts in Nyangoma-Kogelo, Malik said."

In a remarkable denial issued last November that still stands on the official campaign website, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs issued a statement explaining that "Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian."

Apparently Malik Obama, himself a Muslim, had not read the press release.

Melanie Phillips is the most recent commentator to draw attention to the massive body of evidence that leaves no doubt that Barak Hussein Obama was born a Muslim (Islam is patrilineal) and raised a Muslim (so registered in school, acknowledging attending Islamic classes, reported accompanying his step-father to the mosque, and able to recite the Koran in the original Arabic).

Reuven Koret, Aaron Klein and Daniel Pipes have previously pointed to the attempts by Obama and his campaign to conceal the candidate's Muslim background. The well documented evidence draws upon the on-the-ground interviews by researchers in Indonesia and Kenya, published quotations of Obama's childhood friends and his school records, as well as the candidate's own autobiography.

It is not clear whether Barack Obama will now disown his half-brother Malik for acknowledging that shared family background. In any case, some one should notify "Fight the Smear" tout de suite. Perhaps they can get him with the program.

and if he was Muslim? If I remember right one of the most important things this country is founded on is freedom of religion. So much is it is the Bill of Rights. Do you and your conservative buddies want to take that right away Brr?

Someones religion is not a political tactic, sorry.

I tell you what Jack, you are young enough to still be in la la land.

Put down the booze long enough to study the Muslim way of life for a bit, then make your own drunken mind up if you really want to live the Muslim life, and you WILL live the Muslim life or else with a Muslim President.

This isn't about brains here Jack, it is about lifestyle.

Do YOU really want an anti American leader?

For the first time maybe in your life, you need to sober up and read up on what you think you want, then vote your conscience in November.

I guess it don't make much difference however, seems like Hillary's political enemies don't live long anyway. http://www.realchange.org/hillary.htm

So religion isn't a political tactic??? Ask Mitt Romney how it was being attacked for being mormon, by the left. Once again it is ok for the liberals to attack someone for one thing and when they are attacked for it they scream bloody murder.

Funny thing is that according to CNN, Mitts father had NO press on him being a Mormon when running for Governor, yet Mitt took all kinds of Hell for it.

Religion should not play a part of an election, however when the basic philosopy of a persons religion is the elimination of all other religions, then, maybe a person would be smart to study how, and what a person believes.

We have one very articulate person in Mr Obama, but when a person sits back and looks at what his long time teachings (and voting record) have been, such as with his church, and who his long time associates are, and the crimes they have been convicted of , come into play, I think you will find that he is a disgrace to the United States of America.

Its funny that you mention that Duane. I seem to remember reading about some wonderfull little events in history class called the spanish inquisition and the crusades. How about the old testament? "God" told the israelites to go into Caanan and kill or drive out all of the inhabitants because they worshiped false gods and idols. Its ok for you to forget those things or to put them into a false/positive light though. Who can honestly expect the religious to perform rational thought?

So then only atheists, agnostics, or other "god"-less folk should be eligible to serve in public office?

Not at all. People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. Its a simple concept really.

How many republican political and religious figures have been nailed in homosexual sex scandals in recent years? How many white preachers have delivered the same message about 9-11 that Obama's former preacher did? If Obama is a muslim then the message of a christian preacher in chicago would mean what to him? If he follows the teachings of that preacher in chicago, then how could he be muslim?

I see "christians" with bumper stickers and t-shirts with the message "what would Jesus do?" on them. Two examples in the new testament immediately come to mind. When the roman soldier asked Jesus to heal his servant, did Jesus turn him away? The soldier was part of a military that was oppresing Jesus and his people and the soldier most likely had a foreign name that would have been strange to the jewish people. When the prostitute wept at Jesus' feet and asked forgiveness was she turned away because of her place in society?

When the supposed religious right in this country begins to practice what it preaches, then and only then will it be justified in passing judgement on others. Unfortunately, its entirely too easy for people to twist religioun to confirm and conform to their perceptions of hatred and bigotry.

ah yes, enter the moral relativism - then surely you can present another religion that cuts people's heads off with a knife to show some of this "balance" you imply...

I never mentioned balance. Balance would suggest an even playing field where the stupidity on two opposite sides is justified by the other.

The Cathars, European Jews, American Indians and Knights Templar can all attest to beheadings as well as much more gruesome acts performed "in the name of God" and sanctioned by the christian church. For every beheading performed in the middle east, there is a Fred Phelps or David Koresh in the west that would have the same done here. Infact, beheadings aren't anything new to the west. The next time you and your buddy from the great white north are spouting your ussual bullshit at each other about the posse, ask him about bastille day.

Romney was attacked more by the religious right evangelists in his own party for being a mormon than he was by the left.

He isn't "my" candidate. Nowhere did I state that I was voting for him. I'm simply pointing out the flaws in yours and Duane's stupidity. We havn't had a good candidate since '96. Ron Paul was the only viable choice this time and as usual the american public screwed the pooch when it most counted.

Also, a wise man once said, "he who doesn't learn from history is doomed to repeat it." There is no "trying" on my behalf. I simply state fact. I also notice that you like to call upon history when it serves your purpose in the eminent posse vs the world threads. Hippocrate.

have fun voting for this idiot http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/325.html

I'm guessing that my initial assertion may not be correct. its no secret i'll talk politics and stuff like that a lot. but I've been under the impression that we didnt just flat out post propaganda on here - like for instance if there was fake demeaning pictures of something - I wouldn't cut and paste it on to here. i did that a couple times and then thought - just not the right thing to do. I'll post a lot of links or stuff pertaining to like oil prices and such - that does affect our sport. but dude if you are going to talk politics - then talk it all you want. but if you want to start posting crap like this - then I'd say it is fair game for me to ABSOLUTELY FLOOD THIS FORUM WITH ALL THE COUNTER PROPAGANDA I SEE FIT. in short - I dont think Mr. Holland would too happy to see a propaganda war on his forum. so put a freakin sock in it. I see tons of stuff like this all the time against your guys - and don't cut and paste it. thats great we open to talk all sorts of stuff on here - but it shouldn't be taken to another level. this is a racing forum where we occasionally talk politics - not a political forum where we occasionally talk racing. I'm not sure you are aware of the difference. quit with your bullshit propaganda and disinformation.

btw - this is america - we have all supported liars in one way or another. we dont need you to pick and choose which ones we should be fine with. although its rightful to point out that your pimp is the most recent...........and I cant help but point out that Clinton's major lie was in getting some head - something I doubt you are too familiar with- but nonetheless his lie was a BJ - as opposed to a lie for a war that has killed over 4,100 of America's bravest.
