I agree, the super sportsmen should be at Susky. That track is much better suited for them and it could end up saving that track. I don't know why the Grove needs to run saturday nights.

I wondered about that, since I thought the 360s we're boring last week, the only way the leaders could pass is if someone else made a mistake. It really doesn't make sense because I think the 358's put on a much better show then the 360's, maybe the smaller top wing really does help un-hook the cars and make the racing better? I could see how the sportsman race would be similar with the reduced power and extra weight.

half a country away - at oklahoma city. our weekly sprints are both 360's. injected and 2 barrel - we have 2 classes. both draw around 25 usually. but our super sprints - although having slightly less horsepower than ascs motors - put on much better racing - they have smaller top wings too.
the ascs cars when here just seemed hooked up bad. like on a rope. i think maybe the smaller wings our super sprints run make it much more challenging for the drivers. maybe. i just know our weekly show is a hell of a lot better than ascs shows here.

It seems you see exactly what I see. Our 358s have 16sq ft top wings and I believe the URC 360s are the same as 410s at 25sq ft. It looked like they were driving on pavement to me, whoever had the most engine won and track position was everything. Meanwhile, our 358s put on racing every bit as good as the 410s do here. I think our 358 rules as a whole are just really good, the top wing un-hooks the car, and the open head rule allows them to make nearly as much power as the 360s with 10.8:1 compression for longevity. I also agree with the original posters that Susky would be much better for the Saturday show then Williams Grove.

Alan Kreitzer + Sportsman and Todd Fisher (Susky) in the same sentence...give me a break!
it was tried before - like the unprecedented 10 year ASCS deal - neither of which worked out for more than a few weeks.

Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH
