Oliver Abreu (December 14 1920 - May 3 2008)
Dec. 14, 1920 - May 3, 2008 Resident of Castro Valley Oliver passed away peacefully at his home in Castro Valley. He was born in Kihei, HI. He was the last of thirteen children. He loved music, and when he was a young boy, he worked with his father making guitars and Ukulele. He also played Saxophone and Bass in big Bands in his younger years. He was an employee at Pearl Harbor during the attack in 1941. He joined the Army in November of that year, and after his discharge he moved his family to CA in 1956. His passion was building and racing cars, he was a member of NARC for many years. He was a retired mechanic of PG&E. He was married to Blanch for 60 years who preceded him in death in 2001. He was also preceded in death by his son Thomas (The Rabbit) in December, 2005. He is survived by his current wife Dorothy Stevens-Abreu of Castro Valley; and son Ronald Abreu (wife) Dianne of Surprise, AZ; his daugther-in-law Joanie Abreu of La Grange, CA; and four grandchildren and seven great-granchildren. Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA on May 15, 2008 at 11AM. CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES 510-471-3363
