"Double-T" Shows Speed In 360 & 410 Sprint car Action!
By Gary Costa
Fresno, Ca - May 9th & 10th… Tommy Tarlton had another strong weekend in the Tarlton & Son, Inc. winged Sprint car. Tommy's busy weekend started Friday at Ocean Speedway for the Wright One 360 Sprint car series. Saturday would then conclude the racing weekend at Tulare, with the Golden State Challenge series, featuring the 410 Sprint cars.
Ocean Speedway - In Ocean Speedway qualifying, Tommy pushed Shark power to 2nd quick on the field. Then after starting 6th in heat #2, the Paul Baines and Blaine Steele wrenched Maxim crossed the line in the 3rd spot, which threw the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Kaeding Performance, Ridgeline Framing, Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports, Fresno First Bank, Pro Signs, #21 into the main event.
In the main event, Tommy would slide into his 8th place starting spot. The hard charger from Fresno would eventually finish in the 5th position at the conclusion of the main event.
Tulare Raceway –After catching a few Z's, it was time for the team to head to Tulare Raceway for the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial. This race would be Round #11 for the Golden State Challenge Sprint cars.
After making the proper adjustments in his driving style from a smaller track, to a larger one, and also adjusting to more Shark power in hot laps, Tommy was ready to "get after it!"
Tommy qualified in the 7th spot. He then proceeded to do his "job" and get the car out of heat race #1, via his 4th place transfer. The heat race transfer would then get us in the 8-car dash, where we crossed the line in the 4th spot in the stacked event.
We eventually finished in the 6th place in the ultra-exciting main event.
-Up Next For Tommy Tarlton!
It will again be a busy weekend for Tommy and the team, as they will be racing at Ocean Speedway again this Friday. Tommy currently sits 2nd in the point's standings. Saturday, the team will then head to Kings Speedway in Hanford, to race with the National Winged 360 Series. The Tarlton Racing team picked up the inaugural race earlier this year.
