Well thank you, I love being a slut, and what I see on emails, I am good at it.

Thank you for the advertisement! lol

Enjoy the moutains, sure not much quality racing out in the boonies where you camp out now.

Sorry Duane, some of the postings I've seen ripping into you lately seem to have the same intelligence as the old Dan Akroyd/Jane Curtain debates on SNL.

You ain't kidding about a lack of racing around here. I got the bug again on Weds night when I buddy called me from the pits of the Davenport LM show. There is a dirt track about 2 hours NE of me that has sprints and midgets every once in a while, but I don't see the trip being worth it for their regular show. I am gonna have to learn to be happy working at the drag races about 3 miles from home. Not sure how I feel about grown men wearing womens clothes and driving fast, but when in Rome.....

If you are refering to Colorado National Speedway, you must remember, it is NOW blacktop.

Years ago, while visiting friends while on a motocycle trip, I "heard" some races and went to check it out.

Sprints on the dirt.

Later a poster came out with some streakers on it, yup sure enough Colorado National Speedway.

Sad, but someplace in Denver sits a burned out shell of a mall.

Under the ruins of that mall sat a fantastic little bowl of a MiBjet track with the steepest banks you ever seen, the ex and I found this joint while on our "Honeymoon".

Ues Colorado has some good history for open wheel racing, but sad to say, the state has lost some of its finest also.

I didn't feel any of the quakes yesterday.  The only one I've ever felt was back around this time in 1990.  This one was short but it shook my parents home.  Sure got my attention!  I think it was right after this one that Dr. Iben Browning made his infamous prediction that a big one would happen later that year in Dec.  I remember all the fuss everyone was making from it.  Of course it never happened but I got to miss a day or two of school!  I've mentioned to Stubb a few times about the New Madrid fault line and the big one that hit in 1812.  When the next big one happens it won't be pretty.

filtalr: As close as I am to Reelfoot (a little over an hour or so) I've never been there.  I definitely need to check it out.

See now this is why many people with legitimate views on racing have stopped posting here or coming here to read anything at all. This was supposed to be a fun post to get us all fired up for Knoxville's season, not a venue to bash people. While I disagree with and at times am frustrated by many of the things Duane posts on here, I appreciate him for all of the great things he has done at the hall of fame. What really pisses me off, from Duane and anybody else, is when people make judgments about other people involved and feel it appropriate to voice them in a forum like this. For instance, Duane make think a certain person removed after last year from Knoxville was a "hemorrhoid" but does he REALLY know the number of good things this person did for other people at the track? Ask the live results team but only if you have a long time to listen because it's a LONG list and without that person around this year, things may be different and not in a good way. He may also think that other people are fantastic but others involved may have a different opinion. Nobody is perfect we are all human. We all make mistakes. Some people have the best interest of everything at heart and never get recognized for what they know or what they try to do to make the sport or the place better. Some people are absolute jerks to those people but others think they can do no wrong. It's all in your perception and what you believe about what's right and what's wrong in the world. There...now I've been forced to vent my honest take on things. So let the bashing begin...

way too much common sense being made in the last couple of posts.

Duane you ignorant slut! (it makes me laugh everytime I type that)

Colorado Nat'l is about 40 min N of me, I saw a WoO/midget show there in the late 80's when it was still a real racetrack but I will go again just to see what they got going on. It seems like they got a good buzz and some unique promotional ideas. The dirt track is I76 in Ft Morgan which does not have a good buzz about it but I will go up once to see if what they say is true. I don't know much about the track in Cheyanne WY but after that I think Belleville KS or McCool Junction NE is where I would have to go.
