Placerville, CA - April 12, 2008…With the #19s Bob Wirth powered Spike chassis tucked away in the Mike Sala Racing hauler, the team headed towards the always exciting ¼ mile speedway in Placerville, California.
After crew-chief Brian Matherly made the proper adjustments to the car after hot laps, Murrieta, California's Robby Flock was ready to qualify in the BCRA Midget portion of the event.
And qualify he did. Robby was on the gas and proceeded to set a NTR, with an astounding 11.619, breaking the 4-year-old mark set by Rob Russell.
In the 25-lap feature, Robby made the most out of his 4th place starting spot. At the drop of the green flag, Robby propelled the Sala Racing, Bob Wirth powered, Paul Oil, Kaeding Performance, Maxwell Industries No.19s Spike to the front.
On lap-10, Robby got around the race leader and never looked back; he then distanced himself from the rest of the field. The Placerville BCRA Midget win brought Mike Sala his 2nd consecutive car owner win.
Mike Sala Racing would like to dedicate this win to Marty Boyer. You're always in our thoughts
