I will be going to Tri-State Speedway for the first time on April 19 for the WoO event. How is the camping? Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Thanks!

Camping is primitive out in the "back 40" parking lot. Getting tickets in advance is up to you - do you want to stand in line?

I answered your post on R1. The hwy side is a great place to sit too. We'll be up on the top row, on the pit end of the grandstands.

If thisn't one of the best prepared tracks ever then I'll eat my hat. You haven't been to a race until you have been here IMO. I have seen two USAC Sprintweeks shows here, and it's awesome!

On the Outlaws website is says they have sold out of reserved tickets at Tri-State. How does the seating work? Are the General Admission tickets still good seats? Does anybody have a good place to sit for a first timer? Can you order GA tickets over the phone?

Thanks!

Rather than ask more questions here, why don't you just call the track? You'll get the most current information, and it's very likely that they'll tell you the real story, as opposed to assumptions by others....

I emailed the track to make sure it would be the same as the past years and this is what Loris Helfrich said.....On Saturday, at noon, fans will be allowed to enter the grandstands and mark your seats. If there are any marked seats (blankets, trashbags, ect.), before noon Saturday, they will be removed by the Tri-State Speedway staff.

This is one of the highlights of year for me to shoot. Always excellent racing and some of the best track crew in the business! I just wish it was about 6-7 hours closer to home!!! I just have to share a little story from about 10 years back about the class track. The Midwest was having a terrible spring kinda like the one this year with lots of flooding. I called down to the track on sat, as back then all the WoO shows were on Sunday nights. Mr Tommy Helfrich answered and I asked if they were going to be running or not due to the mass flooding in the area? He said yes we are running, and that they had lots of equipment and they were not afraid to put fuel in them! I said are you sure, it's a long way from Toledo to the Evansville area. He said absolutely, come on down. So to this day I have always had great admiration for him as well as all the staff down there! The only thing that would make the situation better is a 2 day show there. Now that would be something to get excited about!!! So if you have any reservations about going, GO you will not be disappointed! Here are some highlights from last year! Photographers dream!!!!

You won't be disapointed at all. It usually get close to sellin out but not completely. All the seats are great seats. And they just have a limited number of reserve seats. Get there early, put down your seat or tape down your blanket, that's what most people do. Then drive down HWY 41 to the Amish resturant for a good meal before the races. It's about 2 miles from the track in the direction of Evansville. I'm sorry I can't remember it's name but they have a great buffet. Smile

The name of the Amish restaurant is Stoll's Country Inn..just a little help for those who have never been there, it is a pain to get in if your coming southbound on HWY 41..you must go to the median, in which you would take to the State Police Post, go across 41 and then take the first road to the left.
