The Calistoga Fairboard in all their wisdom last night decided that there could be no USAC/BCRA sprint and midget racing at Calistoga Speedway on Labor Day Weekend 2008. So sorry to pass this on but that is the way it is. Seems we get closer each year but still no cigar. Best regards Jermar.

all racers in all their wisdom should grant what seems to be the wishes of that f'd up town and stay the hell away from it, forever. i wouldn't piss on the place if it was burning down.

Maybe they'd go for an Open Competition Race?

The whine and cheese crowd won out.

It's THEIR loss!

Too bad for us and the one's that tried to get the race scheduled. It would have been a winner!

I've been thinking for some time how cool and fitting, not to mention fast, it would be to have a open comp race there. With the amount of cars, 60-70 that are expected at Victorville, I don't think there would be a problem with a car count or fans showing up from all over for that one.

I don't think it's all the Calistoga peoples fault. I think they took a look at USAC/CRA and the problems they are having and worried about who would show etc. The last race at Manzy only six travelled over and our guys who usually run Perris stayed home themselves last weekend. Not a good sign, and it's certainly not all about the price of fuel etc.
