Doug Wolfgang, for his driving and articulate insights into sprint car racing via Open Wheel magazine.
And Jack Hewitt because he drove hard every race, win lose or flip out of the park.

Billy Wertz. NEVER a winner, but always present. Anybody have some "classic shots" of Billy in action? E-Mods.

The late Kevin Doty has to be mine. A world class midget racer and a great sprint driver that most never did hear of.

My favorites from the past include Jan Opperman, Rick Ferkel and Bobby Adamson.
My current favorites include Steve Kinser, Kenny Adams and Dave Steele.
I have many other favorites, past and present. Who are some of your favorites?
Let's keep this topic friendly, no negativity or knocking other's favorites. And please, no wagering on which drivers will get the most mentions! lol

all time:
Wayne Sue, Jimmy Sills & Jimmy Boyd.
current:
Sean Becker, Steve Kent, Andy Forsberg & Tim Kaeding.

My first racing hero was Lou Blaney, then became fan of Dave Blaney and Brad Doty... now I'm a huge Sammy Swindell and Doug Esh (the Hammer) fan.

My present favorites:
Tim Kaeding,Mashall Skinner,Jason Johnson,Gary Wright(forever)
Past(historical)
Kevin Goebrecht,Dale Reed,Shane Carson
|
That was great to list Dale Reed. Dale just had a massive stroke Wednesday. We need to say a prayer for Dale and the family.
In the Kansas and Oklahoma area there were so many, but Dale is right in my top 10 or even 5.

Well, i thought Opp was the greatest thing since sliced bread the first time I saw him at the Grove. Hated Mitch Smith, but now in my infinite wisdom, I realize I was a lucky kid to see him run as often I did. Can remember one of the first time the Outlaws came to PA, to Penn National & S. Kinser was working on the car himself, on the parking lot outside turn two, have always liked his attitude.
Present driver: Jason Johnson, my kids adore him, I think he's terrific also. He's driven, has a good work ethic and is a good man.
Suck it up, tough it out, be the best you can
